I'm changing out sheets from Summer to Fall. Yes, I know some people find that ridiculous but I like a change of color and design. Stripped the bed awhile ago and put the comforter in the washing machine and will do the sheets later. Put the new sheets on "Refresh" in the dryer to get some of the wrinkles out. By new I mean the ones I pulled from the armoire where they've been since Spring.

Lots of rain again today but mild temps. I'm glad to put my cotton capris back on and out of the heavy denim jeans! : )

It has been a very busy month so far. At the top of my list for today is to make pickled beets. The beets are simmering now.

We're taking an employee who is leaving our division out to lunch. We just settled who rides in which car. Spent all week last week and the first part of this week interviewing the candidates to replace them. Trying to keep my emails and projects going since my computer is dying and the new one won't get here until next week.

Enjoying the rain. Trying to get my care giving out of the way. That is, I am trying to get my student son and my aged mother, to complete and mail their absentee ballot requests, as they're due in four weeks. How much you wanna bet, come three weeks from now they'll suddenly find it important? ;) We're politically active and they'll want to vote but one no longer drives and the other doesn't live where he can make it to the correct polling place.

schoolhouse_gw, I am a seasonal sheets person too! I love my flannel sheets in the winter, even though we live in a mild climate.

Not much on tap for me today. I've been doing bigger projects like furniture moving and carpet cleaning the last couple of days. Today it's a bunch of piddly projects (repairing small items, and organizing a few cabinets), then pick up DD from school and do the after school routine. I'm going to try to catch a short nap in there too!

Average day for me. Walked the dog, went to the gym, came home and had lunch. Waiting for DG to get home and we'll go for another walk.

I have been chipping away at my basement/laundry room. It is used as storage and my pantry.

I alway went up to the attic and threw out three bags worth of old stuffed toys.

Yesterday I did a closet purge and now have two full kitchen trash bags to take to Goodwill. Today I am going to do a shoe purge. Both activities pain me, because there is nothing in my closet that I don't like or that doesn't fit, but there is too much and some of it has to go.

I'm also going to press some fall leaves for future jewelry projects. Once that's done, I plan to spend the rest of the day in my studio. I have a challenge piece that is way overdue because we were out of town during the challenge timeline, but our group is pretty flexible about these things. Our theme was/is southwestern style this time.

Staying in the house because it is raining AGAIN TODAY! Every day. I am getting cabin fever. I will pay bills and cook that's about it.

Pretty decorations Raven. We are on a road trip in our big rv. Currently in Wyoming, heading to Idaho. I’ve been crocheting a baby blanket along the way.

Lots and lots of rain today. Plans to make a flourless chocolate cocoa cake for friend's birthday tomorrow, and no eggs. So out I went In the rain!

Nice deck and view, Nicole, and lovely table decorations, Raven. This week I'm volunteering at our semi-annual used book sale to raise money for the Children's Hospital. We met at 9 a.m. today at the shopping mall where the sale is held to unpack boxes of books and put them in bins on tables. The actual sale begins tomorrow. There are thousands of books and tables holding the volumes extend through the entire mall. It's a very popular event and the shopping mall likes the added foot traffic.

Today I cleaned all of the decorations that I have on top of my kitchen cabinets. This meant lots and lots of trips up and down a ladder. After I was done with that I went and bought a new refurbished computer from Ribbit. I also sent an email to the company I bought my kitchen faucet from to see what can be done about the faulty sprayer. I had an estimate done on front porch railing, on just one side of the steps. I wanted metal railing, but I was shocked at the cost...$743. Looks like I will have wooden railing instead.

aabbisgram....our cabinet gal Ashley tells us Aspen is the "thing" to use overhead. She says it stains up and looks like a million bucks! We'll stain the aspen light and the support beams dark. Then there's a deck below it, I'll mimick the colors.

Raven those plates are a nice combo! Blue's been a hot color for the last couple of years.

Jewels.....this style of wood and iron is popular here. There's no welding involved, it would be cheaper than just an iron railing.

Wish I had a pretty deck out back. My sunroom is a mess and I want it gone. I spent today with my daughter for the most part. She's sick, which started when we went to Ohio this weekend for a concert. Took her to an urgent care center up there before we drove home. They gave her a breathing treatment and some meds to take home and told her she should be feeling better by today. Well, she wasn't so we went to another urgent care near her apartment. They gave her something different for her cough and changed the prednisone order for a longer period of time and told her she had bronchiolitis, which is very uncommon in adults. I was worried she had pneumonia. We then went to get some Chinese food, took her work excuse to work, and then I got her and me some food from Trader Joe's so she wouldn't have to cook for the next few days, just pop something in the microwave. I did buy some pumpkin treats for the dogs and some pumpkin spread for me. Had to buy some English Muffins from Trader Joe's to eat the pumpkin spread, which I've never had before. I hope they're good.

I also got us both some honey and me some spicey/apple/cinnamon tea to try. It's been cold and rainy here for so long and have been fighting a cold for a few weeks now myself so it sounded good.

It was finally warm today - 75 and muggy. We've had a week or more of raw, rainy weather so I enjoyed today. Did some errands and stopped at The Benefit Shop and found a brand new high quality pair of wool slacks, lined, in a charcoal herringbone. I don't think these have ever been worn. Five bucks. This shop is a thrift store kind of thing that is affiliated with our local hospital. Replanted my newly separated iris and did some rose pruning. Boston Red Sox double header today - I'm listening to the second game now. Moved a couple of stacks of books upstairs to place in my new bookcase. Will retire early tonight to read a while and I hope we get a (predicted) thunder storm. I guess I was more productive today than I thought.

Mowed the dandelions ( grass is mostly dead, so it’s a sea of yellow) picked enough apples(tree next door) and made about two gallons of applesauce. Picked up grandson from his horse class , and then to the store.

Hmmm... started the day watching the UCI World Elite Men's Time Trial championship (pro cycling) while working up a copy of our family's genealogy for my cousin. Then wasted some time browsing the internet, read the paper, gave my daughter a ride home from work in mid afternoon, took some items back to Target (2 cute dresses that just didn't fit right) and Macy's (an internet order that was decided against) -- browsed a little at both stores. Stopped into the market for a couple of sale items. Then got home, changed, planted some perennials and tulips, picked a bunch of cherry tomatoes (have to decide what to do with those), swept the patio, finished just as it was starting to get dark.

Muding drywall in my son's basement he is finishing.

schoolhouse, you are not crazy. I don't change out to fall, but i do change the drapes, quilts, sheets, and decorative pillows from summer to winter. I also have a alpaca rug I throw in front of the fireplace and some lamb skin rugs in the grand-girls bedroom for winter. Oh how I hate the thought of winter coming.

I am continuing to organize and pack, moving in 2 1/2 weeks.

Dh and I went to Erie to visit my sister in a nursing home. The 100 mile drive north up the interstate in driving rain was miserable, but it was well worth it. Our brother and his wife also were there, coming 100 miles from the east in driving rain. Sister was looking great and in very good spirits. She has had a lot of hard times in the year that she has been there. We enjoyed about 5 hours together, mostly remembering growing up together.

Today: I'm planning on staining the closet doors that were finally just installed. Tonight I'll sleep in the living room so I don't have to smell them drying. At lunch I'll be going to the lunch-by-donation at the community center, and afterwards, before it rains yet again, I will clean out the chicken coop. There are other chicken-related things I also want to do. Dinner will be grilled cheese with tomato and onion, along with leftover soup: lamb broth with brussels sprouts.

Yesterday (when this question was posted): Laundry, doing various things on line, going to the senior center to learn about Medicare scams and what one should do to prevent, and afterwards if there seems to be a problem. (I'm not on Medicare yet, but that's around the corner.)

Regards changing sheets and stuff to autumn stuff: when it gets colder I'll be moving from summer cotton sheets to winter flannel sheets. Otherwise, I really don't change much for the seasons, although I have different seasonal door mats: a winter one (mid December until March or whenever it stops snowing), a spring/summer one, a Halloween one (which goes out next week or so), and a regular autumn one (the rest of the year). Door mats are nice and flat... store easily!
