Quite possibly the WORST company I have ever dealt with. You would be better off purchasing your cabinets from Home Depot - you will get better customer service, warranty, and quality. Showplace cabinetry is of inferior quality and the "Lifetime Warranty" is useless. If you decide to purchase from this company do yourself a favor and take video while your cabinets are removed from packaging and document everything. NOT that this will help you in the end because Showplace will blame the installer and you for using the wrong cleaning products (BTW -the only thing I ever used to clean my cabinets is a damp microfiber cloth). In response to our warranty addressing the inconsistent spray and overall fogginess of our black painted cabinets, the Showplace rep Cheryl Eisenman responded "Worn paint, what have they been using to clean this? Her first response is to blame the client instead of getting to the root cause of their own crappy product. You think they would be concerned if this is the final result they are actually sending to the client. The only representative from Showplace I have been able to actually speak to was the local rep Jason Heiner, he actually came to our home to view the issues for himself. Jason acknowledged the majority of the issues our dealer/installer brought to the attention of the warranty department. I had hoped that since their own rep witnessed the problems it would be resolved. In the end, the majority of our claim was denied. I contacted Jason and he reached out to the head of Customer Relations Kerry Hayes and indicated I would be receiving a phone call from her. Weeks later, no phone call, I contacted Jason again. Here is his texted response....."Showplace has made the decision and passed it on to your dealer and it is now between YOU and the DEALER. Showplace communicates only with their dealer base only. Please reach out to him going forward." All I can say to that is WOW! So basically, screw you. You are at the mercy of the dealer. Our dealer failed to submit our claim within their 1-year policy. How is this the client’s fault?? Are their "specially trained" DEALERS not an extension of their company?? They do NOT stand behind their product or the dealers that they choose to do business with. Our cabinets were delivered in March of 2021 and we here we are 2 years later and none of our warranty items have been replaced. The one item that was sent was of no better quality than the original product. The pictures speak for themselves. WORST experience ever, appalling BAD customer experience.

Recently I bought (after measuring very carefully to make sure they were not too tall!) floor to ceiling dark brown, stained and lacquered bookcases from a store that was going out of business and selling (or basically giving away) their display cases. I filled in a few screwholes with plastic wood, lightly sanded a few rough areas, painted the cases inside and out with a good-quality white primer (this is the essential step!), sanded away any drip marks, and then finished with two coats of the same paint my daughter and son-in-law had used to paint the woodwork in the house they had recently bought. I had a handyman bolt them to the walls on either side of the living room fireplace and then add trim around the top which matches the rest of that in the room. The bookcases look completely built in. They were excellent quality pieces with crown moldings and striated rails---they look wonderful!! No one would ever guess in their previous life they were old brown dismanteled display cases from a store that had gone out of business! Paint will do wonders. As for the pulls, don't dream of trying to paint them-- take one of the old ones to Home Depot or a local hardware store. They will help you buy new ones which will fit the existing holes (never try to drill new holes--that leads to real problems which a coat of paint can't fix!!) Good luck with your daughter's room--I know it will be beautiful and she will appreciate your hard work as my daughter and her husband did.

Whatever you use, make sure it's set well. Reading a tag on some jeans recently, it warned that the dye might rub off onto furnishings (hard to imagine that got through the design process! Think they were Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. At Costcos). Later was reading how someone had noted the dye from their jeans had rubbed off onto their furniture. So, I'd just make sure that whatever paints/dyes you're using isn't going to transfer onto clothing and then over to paint another piece ; )

Kountry Wood was the "value" offering at a design store here in Mich called the Kitchen Shop-there are a few of their design centers scattered in this area. I thought the product was good -liked the finish. They are Amish made. Because of the presence of a complete design and install center handling them, I know they would work for the price point maybe better than other cheaper cabinet lines where customer service can be a hassle to correct things or tweak something in the plan/etc. Now I have just looked and see that the Kitchen Shop has dropped them and picked up Waypoint and Wolf cabinets-never heard of them. KountryWood is still in operation...looks like they have streamlined their offerings-just maple, oak, and cherry. I believe they had birch and hickory previously. What I notice is some interesting stain options on maple and a white paint....some dark stains for oak. Other cheaper cabinets I don't think would present you with the finish they give you and now stain offerings to boot. Might be good. If you have a design center handling them it might be a good end product for a lower investment in your cabinets while ending up with a good durable product. I felt the door finishes when handling/looking at them were superior to Ikea. But Ikea has certain aspects that make it desirable as well.
