Paint color for kitchen??? Need advice
So, installing this cream backsplash in our (current messy!) kitchen and at the same time the painter will be painting the walls. I’m obsessed with the color of our dining room and also bedroom that were
done a few weeks ago. Would either of those colors go in the kitchen?
dining room is sherwin Williams rushing river
bedroom is SW perfect greige
any advice??? I’m open to any color but really like these two.

Comments (2)A couple of thoughts I would not spend money on a hood to match cabinets in a small space IMO they only work in large kitchens . Just a simple stainless hood with maybe glass would be in keeping with your choices. I would not mix metals either in a small space.You will need something behind the stove unless your stove has something at the top to protect the walls. I think backsplash tile is a much nicer look than counter material for a backsplash and that would give you the ability to use the same tile behind the stove to keep it simple. Glass tile in a blue might be quite stunning with the counter and the floor. As for walls I would just use the same color as the cabinets in a matte finish and after all the other pieces of furniture are in place you can decide if you want some color on some walls. Comments (9)In order to brighten things up, look at the off whites. They look like colors on the little sample cards, but when painted on the wall, often look more like a pale color than a white. I'd go all the way up to the lightest colors. I really don't see how you can go wrong, your choices so far are so neutral. I think you could go warmer, or cooler, and it would make sense. In order to brighten up the space, I would do these things: -think about shiny, beefy drawer pulls/knobs, like polished nickel -think about maybe glass subway tile (or other pattern), or even a metallic tile. Something that reflects light. -make sure your lighting is excellent in every regard: overhead, undercabinet, pendant work lights. Just curious if I choose to change the granite completely, what color will go with oak wood floors and simply white or another white upper cabinets and darker island cabinets? 5 years agoKitchen to dining room arched entrance .... for now I taped the samples. I think Rushing River may be too dark??? I like perfect greige but would you consider perfect greige warm or cool —- how does that play against warm cabinets???

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoHopefully one of the pros will weigh in on specific color recommendations--not my forte, though I have used the posterboard tryout many times--six times actually to get the right yellow for a room! Since your kitchen isn't really part of any other room, you don't need to strictly keep it all the same if the paint doesn't work with the cabinets.
