How do I arrange big living/dining/play space?
Comments (7)First I have to ask, how committed are you to keeping the big giant blow up bouncy houses in your living space? There is just no hiding them or disguising them. So if you really want to keep both of them, you will always have a room that screams toy haven. Is there a spare bedroom where you can keep the larger one? Or reserve it for use outside? I think the front room will work really well as a child's play area. Using creative storage, covered baskets or even cubes on your white book case can help conceal some toys. Since you are facing into the living room when entering from the front door, if the room with the fireplace is arranged in a cozy manner, that will be the first thing you see. Is there any way you can put the couch beneath the window, and the TV next to the fireplace where the white chair is? This way when people walk in they don't see the back of the couch and the TV facing them. Maybe you can move the chair to the corner of the play room, with a small storage cube ottoman in front to hold toys. I agree, I think your dining area should stay close to the kitchen in the blue room. Otherwise it will be completely impractical when serving dinner or having guests over for a meal....See MoreStudio apartment living/dining challenge
Comments (3)Put the table against the back of the couch. With what I can see in your pictures, one end of your table is against a wall. I'd pull it off the wall, even if only a couple of inches, put the bench elsewhere (end of your bed?) until needed and put the three chairs on the other long side....See MoreHow to arrange living/dining in new apartment with left facing couch?
Comments (10)The photo above illustrates my first thought re: your layout. Move your living area to the centre and dining area to the window because there is an access point to your balcony there already and eating by the window will always feel lovely whether it is a bistro style set up or something more formal. consider the wall shared with the bedroom as the thoroughfare wall. It would be the perfect place for a TV if you have one or a slim storage wall (or both). The photo above, although lovely, seems to be staged for sale or as a short-term rental, not arranged for living, so you will need to make more of the opportunities for storage. Congratulations on your new home!...See MoreIdeas for a triangular shaped open living space
Comments (7)It’s a small space. I would do a sturdy farmhouse style table that can double as a workspace for the kitchen. I don’t think you have room for an island and a dining area. A buffet/hutch where you currently have the table marked will give you more storage. I don’t think you have room for a L-shaped sofa either. Maybe a sofa with accent chairs. You could have a dresser/chest of drawers double as a console table behind the sofa for more storage....See MoreKris Bruesehoff
