Karen: I can take a larger view picture this afternoon for you. Yes, the outlet doesn't help. I have to get the outlet/cover replaced yet...just placed the old ones for now. I don't have undercounter lighting yet either, but plan to get it. I can say that when I turn on my microwave light, it does still look like this.

Sophie: I am not sure what he set the tile with. However, he is coming to my place in a few hours, and I will ask him. Is there anything specific I should be looking for related to what should/should not be used?

Joseph: Thank you for that re-assurance. I'm hopeful it goes back to the white I have in the picture. But, I'm not feeling great about that prospect yet! Did your marble go back to what it was previously? I'm really concerned I will have to remove and replace again....and probably have to eat the cost of everything.

One other question.....when you put tile as a backsplash, do you caulk the area between the counter and bottom tile or do you grout it? This is all grouted, and I worry that it will just crack. Thanks again everyone

It looks about like you’d ecove t of a new marble install. But it’s too white for the counters. That’s only going to get worse as it ages and dries out more and gets whiter. Putting stone next to more stone is never the first choice. If you like the format of the tile, a better choice would be a bisque or almond ceramic.

Put a fan on part of the backsplash...might get you an answer faster. What did the tile instructions say about sealing before grouting?

You should caulk where two different planes meet, including using caulk between the tiled wall and counter.

Rantontoo: good idea on the fan. The installer was here today and told me it wasn't going to get any better. Regarding instructions, I am not sure. I did pose that question to the manager at the tile shop and haven't heard back though.

We literally just purchased this tile to do our back splash in our kitchen. Oddly enough we picked this to replace brand new glass subway tiles that look blueish after being installed but before grouting.

Did this ever go back to white? We are thinking of buying this for our bathroom floor...
