Decorating slanted (ie attic-style) walls ?

I live in a small third floor condo in a Mansard style house that was built in the late 1800s. Though the place is small --a little over 650 square feet -- the size is not the issue. The rooms are good size for a small place, the ceilings are high, so there's none of that claustrophobic attic feeling, the floor plan is relatively open, and I get plenty of natural light. However, the exterior walls are all slanted because of the design of the roof. My dilemma is how to decorate when I can't hang pictures or artwork on most of the walls because they're not straight. I've thought about putting wallpaper or decorative wall decals up, but haven't found anything that really strikes my fancy yet, and I've been looking for some time. I would love to hear suggestions from the community, particularly from anyone who's lived in a similar space. Any help will be greatly appreciated !! Thanks in advance.
