How to add create new electrical outlets in a 1920 house

hello there

Hi everyone,

We want to rent out our old house so we scheduled an inspection with our local Fire Department. The inspection report calls for an additional outlet in each of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The house inspector said that we can run the wires from one existing outlet to the new one on the

baseboard of the room. The existing outlets on the second floor are ungrounded.

We met with from two electricians. Both suggested running wiring up from the panel in the basement to the upstairs bedroom.

What are the disadvantages of not having the new outlets be created from the panel itself?

The house does not have central AC, so there is a need for window AC units in the bedrooms. Likely these would be plugged into the newly created outlets.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
