Wall mount Range hood venting

Where our range hood should go there is a 2x4 right in the middle. We cut the hole in the outside wall 3 inches over but now it isn't going to line up with where the range hood is supposed to go. Our wall is about 11 inches thick. Can we put the exhaust vent cap on the outside wall then hook up a 90 degree elbow to it and then use the semi rigid ducting to go through the rest of the wall (through the drywall) to the range hood to have it line up?

First, the ducting has to be steel so care is needed to assure that any flexible ducting is the correct material.

You can make a duct path as tortuous as you want, so long as the blower being used is capable of the necessary flow rate at the pressure loss you have incurred. Generally, the baffles or mesh filters dominate the pressure loss so a short length of bends is not too critical.

Consider an angled duct path in the wall with two 45-degree bends.

What size duct is in play here?

The assessment of trades above by @User is correct. You’ll need a HVAC person, an electrician, and someone to do drywall. You’ll also need a new dedicated electrical outlet for where you moved your MW. I’m not sure why there isn’t an outlet above the range, where you moved it from, but it wouldn’t be in the right place for a chimney hood if it were. That’s why you have to decide on the hood, and design everything around the exact hood’s specs. The location and shape of the duct and the electrical location is NOT universal. It’s normal to have to move or adjust everything, or do new. You need the specs and the hood on hand when talking to contractors. Don’t forget an exterior damper to keep cold air from infiltrating your home! You will get a better job, done faster, if you hire a General Contractor, rather than trying to hire the trades individually. They have their subs that they give lots of work to, and who will return phone calls and show up. And pull the permits that this will require. A homeowner doesn’t get the same price or response from the trades, and it takes weeks longer. I’d suggest posting on your local NextDoor or Facebook neighborhood or city group to look for a licensed and insured (check this!) contractor who can do a small job. But, it isn’t as small as you think!

That’s too small for most good hoods sold. 8”-12” is more standard forhoods with good CFM.

You can potentially use a hard 45 on the duct to shift to one side. Or reframe the joists for a proper opening. (Not trusses.) Or, shift the design over a bit. There are a lot of choices open to the experienced Pro who is on site and can see the situation in person. Even the exoerienced Pros can’t see all of the variables from here.

Extending Sophie's comment -- even a skilled handyman would need to see the exact parts and layout before advising a best approach. The OP may wish to make drawings to scale to see if standard duct parts can be used in this space.

Some hoods have an offset exhaust. Did you look at the specs of the actual hood model you are using?
