Thought someone might like to know that those who like the very upscale and modern look of Baker furniture designers like Barbara Barry , Thos. Pheasant, and Bill Scofield but don't like the 5-7,000 dollar price tags are checking out the repros from Brighton Furniture. Bedroom nightstands are included. Absolutely dead on in every way and how they can do it without a single challenge from Baker is beyond me! I own a mirror from them and have spoken to the owner by phone to ask about their offerings. Remarkable products at remarkable prices and as close as you can get to the genuine articles in every way but price. This is not an ad for this company in any sense of the word, but is definitely a very well kept designer secret.

For starters, true elegance IMO is simple. And I for one understand what OP means by rustic elegance. So: I love white, so I'd go with a creamy white on the walls. I have SW Creamy in a north facing room, and it's warm and soft. Another similar creamy white color, which gets enthusiastic reviews here, is BM Capitol White. I'd get off white linen drapes and an off white rug, maybe with a subtle pattern. Basically various shades of whites with lots of texture. Alternatively, go with a very dark blue wall color and off white drapes, rugs, etc. are there any bedrooms that you like? If yes, can you identify their common elements? Or post them here? Another question: what of this set have you bought/are you planning to get? Everything? Personally, I would not buy the complete set, i.e. get different nightstands, for example.

What a nice room! Love the window sill and white walls. Great scandi feel, indeed. Also love the armoire and its contrast with the white walls and spare modern style. Agree with scooting it towards the wall a smidge or two more. That R&B bed and the elephant print are gorgeous. When I saw the print, I thought why not use that fabric as a headboard? Either hung from a pole to match the sill or covering a padded board. (Whatever is easier to clean.) To my eye, the "sill" gives the feeling of a headboard. In the pics at least. I'd keep the rest of the bedding mostly white. I think a dark vertical print across the armoire would look good too. I'd choose sleek and closed nightstands and add a tall-ish white ceramic vase to hold some greenery on one or both. I'm not a fan of large rugs in bedrooms simply because I hate vacuuming and I have a dust mite allergy. If I had a concrete floor, I think I'd opt for washable area rugs on each bedside. Hey There: I don't know how dark you guys need your bedroom to be to sleep, but shutters do not give you a black out in your bedrooms. We have installed a lot of honeycomb black out shades between the window and the shutters to achieve this. Roller shades have a similar problem. The fabric is recess about 1/2 to 3/4 inch on each side to make sure the fabric can travel on the roller but this also allows for a lot of light coming in.
