Cpartist, I thought it had a craftsman vibe. But, the interior has all the original stained baseboards and doors, but very simple boards, no detail, no built-ins all in old heartpine.....and the porch roof is separate and not part of the main roof.

Can it still be a craftsman?

I like it! Sure, its definitely craftsman-esque - the broad horizontal lines of the porch and whats goingon with the slanted porch rail -thats very craftsman-esque. Im dying to see whats going on under there! I think I would start with the porch siding before removing any other siding on the body of the house just to a) give you some idea of whats under the siding and b) getting your porch restored will give you a LOT of bang for your buck - its the most proment feature of the house. With any luck you may find the original porch in good shape underneath.

Often houses then (same as now) take inspirations from the fashions of the day but without being a really full blown example of anything. Yours is a simple, modest, middle class version and I would keep it that way - dont go over the top making it extreme craftsman or anything like that but do look at craftsman style doors (or very simple panel door with square plain glass) and google craftsman exterior colors - generally these are earthier colors - reds, golds, browns, greens - youll find certain blues or grays within traditional Craftsman pallette too but avoid the stark whites/lights so popular now.

Another thing I would first off is swap out the storm windows for a higher end product - you can get e glass and choose a color frame that fits your color scheme. A dark color that contrasts with the painted wood exteriror trim can be a nice effect.... or make it same
