Paint Design Dilemma Bedroom

Need paint help with grey carpeting

We are installing grey carpet (LifeProof Alamo Hills II in Frontier) in three bedrooms and need to decide on a paint color. We originally were thinking a light grey, but we just received the carpet sample and none of our paint choices look good with the carpet. We are now thinking of white, but have no idea where to even start! We have used Behr and Glidden in the past, and want to stick with those brands if we can find the right color. All bedrooms have west facing windows that bring in a lot of light.

You need to figure out what color family the carpet belongs to before you can think about paint complements. Do you have a picture?

It is difficult suggesting color schemes with a monitor, but I suggest you get some of the rug color up onto the sofa using throw pillows. These are from etsy. I see glass and brass for a coffee table. Something like this table..3 pieces, is interesting and not so formal. You definitely need art on the wall….maybe an oil painting? Room is great…a nice eclectic mix of traditional and modern.

Thank you for your suggestions. I like this color palette very much! Yes area rugs are a must to tone it down. As you can see, they replaced carpeted areas with the acacia flooring but kept the old Bruce floors. I have an area rug very similar to the one you shared as well. Thank you again!

Busy day tomorrow, so I thought I would offer some ideas for your bathroom wall colors. Impossible to tell much from these photos but I don’t like any of those grays for your bathroom. So I picked out two whites I suggest you get samples for. Trying to make all those gray tones in your level 4 V Stone (4 being most variable colorations) is darn near impossible. So here is mock up (very bad coloring on my iPhone but two colors. SW Extra White and Behr Ultra Extra White could work well and be nice from and with bedroom color too. See what you think.

Chantilly Lace may be B.M. whitest white. With the high LRV, there is barely any undertone. I just finished a Master Suite for client and chose Chantilly Lace, in a semi-gloss finish, and I was thrilled with it. I also did the ceiling the same, but in flat finish. Lovely.

I'll post one tomorrow when the natural light can show the color well. It is a bit blue/grey. It has grey and white fibers woven together so it is pretty light.

Sherwin Williams: Walls in Pussywillow, trim in Origami White. I think this is the color option you need. Forget the label and use the tone you need. In this area more people are moving to other brands because their old favs just don't match the new flooring options in their lighting. It seems like you need a silver gray not a blue or green gray, and that might be what you chose initially inadvertently. Also, on the screen we don't see it like you do. Try these colors and see if that works for you. Another direction you might look into is a lavender, violet or lilac tone, if you want to change it up a bit in one room... And I think Gray Owl and Gray Tint from Benjamin Moore might be 2 others to consider? With a grey carpet, I would take a look at other color neutrals. This a darker carpet so you should try to keep the room either light neutrals or brighter colors to keep the rooms from looking too dark. Here are two places to look for neutral colors.
