Novice Builder Tiny Home Project

last modified: 5 years ago

I am a hobby Carpenter in southern Maine and am challenging myself to build a 450 square foot home for as cheap as possible without being unsafe. Goal is to live in tiny home for a couple years while I build my real house. Therefore I am using inexpensive techniques that I wouldn’t normally use. I do not need to meet code or have any sort of inspection and frankly I just dont care if it’s done by the book. With These reasons in mind I’m looking for input on my siding system that Came up with. Now that I’ve started it I’m wondering if it will be structurally sound to hold up to wind. I’m not concerned about moisture or looks. Again this building doesn’t need to last forever just don’t want it blowing on top of me in my first winter. Thoughts? Tyvek over studs with strapping going horizontal then vertical 1x10s. Now I am thinking it needs corner bracing or diagonal bracing.
