Closet sliding door size
Comments (5)These are from HD, since they have 15% off custom doors right now. Top track supports the weight, bottom track is a guide. They suggested (and I read on a couple other forums to...) carpet first and install the bottom track over the carpet. That seems strange, and means I can't order until I know how thick our carpet will be. Also the track will be smushed down on top of the carpet pile? That doesn't seem nearly as solid as putting down a permanent filler strip of plywood, screwing the track down to that and carpeting up to the strip then starting again on the closet side with a fresh edge of carpet. I always thought doors first then carpet... but in the case of slider rails it's the opposite?...See MorePlease help choose glass pattern for large sliding closet doors
Comments (19)sjhockeyfan, the discount varies with the total purchase size. From the website: "Save 10% when you spend up to $1000. Save 15% when you spend over $1000. Save 20% when you spend over $2000. Discount applies to products offered by The Sliding Door Company and may not be applied to installation or sales tax. Discount can not be combined with other offers or can not be applied to past purchases. Appointment must be made through this form. No discount honored for no-shows. Discount valid now through 11/30/13." I am giving the link for the San Diego store so you can see the green "button" to click on to make an appointment and get the discount. To find the offer for your local store, try to Google "sliding door company 20%" plus your city's name. Comments (6)Hi sjhockey fan. Thanks for the warning. I have seen both the milky and frosted options in the showroom. I don't care for the stark opaque white of the milky glass. (The laminated option looked better, but for a 30% cost upgrade.) The frosted has a sandblasted textural "softness" to it that I like. I could only see a little bit of clothing color through the frosted glass in the display closet. If it is a problem once installed, we will add Solyx film (or maybe light blue painted or fabric panels) behind the glass to increase opacity....See Morequestion what are standard sliding mirrors? we have small closet 39” w
Comments (7)yes bi fold doors, not sliding. You have no room for sliding. Actually, I don't know that you even have room for bifold. That is an odd sized door opening that you have. My experience with bifolds is that they come in 12" wide segment or maybe 15". They are for 48" wide openings and 60" openings, etc. You don't have any multiple thereof with 39". I have never seen an intentional closet in such a position. I doubt that was part of the original floor plan. Is it possible to eliminate this closet and put a free standing piece of some kind in it's place? That corner space is so awkward as to be of diminished value. It looks like you could eliminate that one piece on the wall and thus eliminate the "closet"....See Moredrsaj
