Mine is old, dark brown and usually covered with a tablecloth.

I'm definitely a tablecloth fan. My 3 year old grand daughter loves to come and eat lunch with Grandma, and I love throwing the tablecloth in the wash at the end of the day.

Mine is white washed. It has a little more than I would like. My previous one had less.

Thanks. I liked the table so much when I lost the original in the flood I was determined to get another one just like it. Thank goodness they still sold it. One chair is turned sideways so Mia can use it to jump up to the windowsill dog bed lol.

Colored cabinets are very trendy right now, and it seems like the colors you mentioned for tables are the ones I see in magazines on cabinets too.

Nicole there was a whole thread about my poor table that started out as a wood table with scratches and a broken leg. I fixed the leg, learning a lot in the process because I had to drill and insert and glue a dowel for the screw to go into, but the scratches were a different story. In order to get a decent finish I would have had to completely sanded off the scratched finish, the interim save I tried, sanding and applying a gel stain coat did not work.

I decided that I did not want to do all that refinishing inside a tiny apartment, and I am flat out not strong enough any more to get the table out and in from the patio.

So I've decided to chalk paint it. I can understand how some people might not agree about chalk painting a nice wood table and I accept their feelings.

I think it is going to get chalk painted white, but I will also use tablecloths and place mats sometimes.

It is while I was looking at all the images of painted tables that I discovered the strong color preferences I mentioned in the original post.
