Comments (6)no matching wood chairs; there will be waaaay too much wood. Get upholstered chairs, not mismatched unless you just have the heads of the table different and watch out for height of different chairs. They don't have to be identical, but do have to be in balance. I would not match the floor or the cabinets. Can you contemplate black? The floor and the cabinets fight each other. Cabinets are modern, floor is very traditional. Go to a store which offers professional advice with several pictures. Ethan Allen is one. Do not feel obligated to buy, just ask them what they suggest and what they have which would fit. I see dark brown furniture in the back. If that is staying, you will have to think further. Why not an old table you find that can be painted a favorite colo? Inexpensive and might totally transform your space....See Morehelp picking dining table color to go with light hardwood floor
Comments (6)Color is very hard to assess on line. Do you have chairs? Window treatments? What china do you plan on using with this table? Do you have a chandelier? Do you have or plan on a rug? What other furnishings and finishes do you plan or have in the room? All these are factors to fold into your decision-making. Some photos of the room would help and we can do mock ups with various finish choices. In summary, we need more info....See MorePaint dining table colour or not?
Comments (2)What very neutral cour is your home? White, grey, beige, brown, black? The colour you choose for your table should flow nicely with the rest of the home :) A pic of the table would be good too! In general I don't think dining tables with DIY painted tops stand up well. Of course there will be exceptions, but I know a few people who are dealing with tops that are wearing like crazy; the paint wears off after so many daily washings. In addition to that, painting it a colour locks you into that colour for the life of the table, unless of course you want to repaint. I don't know that a major piece of furniture is the best place to branch out into a newfound love of colour! What if you leave the table as is or paint only the base in a neutral that suits your home and add colour with a rug, centerpiece, and art?...See MoreDining Table Paint Color
Comments (15)Thanks for the suggestions! I think I’m going with coral! 🙂 I love Alison Krandle’s designs and this kitchen she did! I found a color that matches the kitchen island here, and I think that will compliment the blue curtains, and brighten that space up. I love the idea of navy metal chairs to replace the others, but the bench was built by my husband so I plan to keep that☺️. The chairs are from the barn behind my moms house. They are super old and not very stable, so later down the road when the budget allows I will definitely look into the navy ones. I think that color would compliment the coral and the blue as well!...See More- 8 years ago
