Which seating arrangement for office? Pics, long
Comments (10)Thanks for all the great imput, gals. I'm going to test drive the room tomorrow using my older recliner from the living room. It's bigger than the new one I'm considering, but by setting it up with the oak washstand I'll have a better idea of the space I have to work with. I often sleep in Wes' recliner, especially when the ole bronchitis is acting up. I think it will suit my reading/relaxing/listening-to-audio-books/napping purposes. I just hope there will be room for two chairs. For some reason I want "seating for two" in this room. Of course, there will be an office chair pulled up to the computer where I tend to spend a wee bit of time! LOL Here's the wash stand I plan to use as an end table. The drawers can hold office/computer supplies. Since taking this photo (at the old base house) I've put vintage handles on it. The lamp and lace will have to go into the sewing room; they don't "fit" the office. Here's the new/old drawer pulls....See MoreWhat is on the walls in your home office?
Comments (26)Our home office turned into a "multi-media learning center" 4 years ago. The summer of 2011 when we had 60+ days of about 110 degree or more. Couldn't do outside activities with the grandbabies (5 and 3 at the time). So we removed the treadmill to add a really "beefy" wooden futon, added a nice (not tacky)animal and jungle themed carpet runner in front of it. Let down into a bed, it's big enough for all 4 of us to watch the (new for 2011) 42" tv on the wall. Also purchased a BluRay player and mounted it on the wall. Of course the computer and printer and office desk was already there. Pictures of Serengeti art and clock are on the walls. Went to the Teacher's Supply Store and bought several fun workbooks and other teaching supplies. Have various school posters on the walls (days of the week, solar system, Plant cycle, United States, cursive alphabet and colorful inspirational posters...Bsomeone UwouldB Proud 2know...stuff like that. Bought a "Wanted" poster and put it on the door and filled it with a collage of pictures of the babies. Wood floors and "dromedary camel" paint. So it's an office/multimedia learning center/movie watching and a place for the babies to sleep when they're spending the night (unless they won't get out of our bed <lol>). Since we're almost done with DH's bathroom, which is right next to this room, I've been thinking of removing all the posters since they've been up for 4 years this month and refreshing the art....See MoreHelp! How should I arrange the furniture in my office with big desks?
Comments (7)Thanks for quick the reply! I do not receive clients in the room, so I don't need any other chairs. I was contemplating a small chair with an ottoman for reading, but haven't decided yet. The window on the right in my pictures looks out to the backyard, the window on the left looks out to my neighbors. The office is on the second floor. Nothing will distract me, I enjoy glancing out at the windows and the birds. I'm going to add light filtering shades in case the glare gets too bad. I'd like to avoid being in a position where they need to be down all the time because of glare since I like looking out the window so much. The second desk will double as my drawing space and for my makeup. So, I will be reaching for it on a semi-regularly basis....See MoreNeed help with home office wall groupings/arrangement
Comments (5)The wall art looks fiddly to me and not at all like an office Ship lap is IMO already done to death and we don’t need anymore. Maybe if you post pics of the whole room it might be easier to give opinions...See MoreDanni
