Fan run times and other noob questions freaking out.
Comments (8)First of all, pictures are worth a 1000 words. Please post pics. Second, I think you probably have a moisture issue with the soil in particular. Fans and warmth/sun should help that out. I am not real familiar with your soil mix but that could be a problem. Plants love compost if it is properly composted. But compost that isn't broken down well enough or made up of the wrong materials is not good. If you have water in the pan or basin after watering, then that is likely the ultimate cause of the soil being so wet for so long. But I think you are on the right track in that the real problem might be the water left in the pans. Those 4" pots are wicking that water up constantly and the roots never have a chance to dry out and breath. Water the plants, then place them in a basis or open shelf that is dry, when they get dry, water them again. You can water bottom up or top down, that is not the issue. You can check the moisture content of the soil by poking a wooden stick, dowel, popsicle stick, etc into the soil. If it comes out clean, you likely need to water. If it has soil particles stuck to it, the soil has enough water. Oh, in case I forgot to tell you, pictures are not only important but very much appreciated on this forum. Comments (4)We have a 36" Kitchen Aid side by side, front water/ice dispenser which is over ten years old. It's worked great with nice layout. It's never required service other than replacement of plastic water hose with copper piping to ice maker/water when we first got it. I just cleaned the refrigerator coils by taking off the bottom vinyl cover (after I unplugged it of course). Had not done that in too long so dust was on them which I gently shook off with a pastry brush on a rigged long handle, allowing the dust to go right into the awaiting pre-set narrow vacuum hose. The stainless steel front does not hold magnets which means the gauge of SS is thicker. We also have a ten year old Kitchen Aid Dishwasher. I just checked it's filter, cleaned it out of minimal stuff and since we have hard water, ran a half cup of CLR (calcium, lime, rust) remover in a normal wash and then a second rinse (follow directions). I've never been too impressed with the machine's quietness, (55 decibels or more). I wasn't thinking decibels when I bought it: try to by one with a filter as has been suggested and lower decibels. I'd buy a Kitchen Aid refrigerator and dishwasher again. Good luck....See MoreRunning out of time need help
Comments (2)Many dining display cabinets have built in lighting so you need switched outlets behind the cabinets for wall switch control of them. Your husband probably does not like glare which is different than "real bright". You need to make sure the lamp (source of the light) is concealed from him over task areas that require a high level of light for food prep and clean up. The light level should be adjustable to allow for in kitchen entertaining when the prep is done. Over islands that typically means recessed, quality recessed, lighting. You can have small decorative pendants also. Do not use fixtures with the lamps at ceiling level or with lenses at ceiling level. Living room lighting around the walls would be wall washing or accent lighting on art. Usually done with recessed fixtures. A good lighting plan needs time to develop. Your lighting designer would need to learn about you, your hobbies, your collections, budget, etc. Lights up in trees aiming down is often called moonlighting. There are a few different types of fixtures. The size of the tree canopy, height, and how open the structure is helps to determine what to use, how many watts are needed. Similar info is needed for up lighting to choose appropriate fixtures....See MorePlease help me? :) Exterior paint color scheme.....running out of time
Comments (9)It is interesting to me. I thought I liked it as is, but the pictures you posted are fabulous lukki. I love the green. I would probably lean towards cream though too. I just find it jarring to have the front so different than the rest of the house. I actually do not like it at all, yet have somehow ended up in that kind of house twice in a row! the one i Have now has brick on the entire front and then White vinyl siding on the other three sides. Why? why? :)...See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years ago
