Wireless Internet Shopping carts!
Comments (30)LOL Mustangs! Now we know why kids think milk comes from grocery stores! Bumblebeez, I know... they do send people out to do price check. But always come back and say "Nah, the tag there is wrong. It was on sale last week." If it was on sale last week the tag should be down. And if it was not down then you should honor the price posted! But these people always go by the computer. Every time I run into a situation like this the cashier always asks, "So, do you still want it?" If I mention they should change the price on the shelf I always get this not-my-problem stare. Superstore has good deals but customer service can be very lousy. Al...See MoreStanding in the shopping cart
Comments (25)Sandi-- I think the story you related is terrible and it could have been so much worse, but, two things....perhaps she was just totally embarrassed by what happened. I said in my above post that this nearly happened with my son and of course my first thought was "is he ok" and then a whole flood of embarrassment washed over me. Maybe it's not that she was unphased. Also, sure, it may sound like common sense to you not to put your child in there, but when you have 2 kids like this lady had, what are you going to do with them? If one is needing to be up front and the other won't or can't walk, what can you do? I just think that alot of people think it won't happen to them. I am sure that you and everyone else, myself included, have done some pretty stupid things with our kids and just in general. Did it occur to you to help her, not just want to tell her off? I know it would have been hard not to say something, though. I realize this message sounds like I am directing hostilities towards you, but I don't mean to. Just playing devils advocate here! Also, I was just relaying my own experiences and what I felt, just the other side of the fence....See MoreNew Smaller Shopping Carts.Love Them!!!
Comments (22)Only time I saw the clothes basket type ones were at Menards selling them as clothes baskets. Thought about buying on for laundry. And I've never been to a Kohl's. A couple stores have the smaller cart option. I don't use them. Tried it once or twice but didn't like them though they'd work in a jam. I tend to lean on them a lot when I'm stiff and the smaller ones are a lower height. Fleet Farm has what look like conventional carts but they're designed differently. If you lean on the handle, it'll do a wheelie. Almost landed on my face the one day when I was really stiff and sore. And this place makes you sign a contract to use their electric carts and give them your ID. You must indemnify the store in the event that anything happens, including damage to the store, even to the point if someone else is responsible, you indemnify them. I laughed at them and said buh-bye. Didn't go there often before. Go there less often now. From the store's standpoint I understand the smaller cart - lower price and possibly lower frequency of repair. As a customer, I don't see any advantage. What is it that you love so much? I must be missing something. They block the aisles as effectively as a standard cart and work the same on the rule of thirds aisle blocking. I guess for some the lower reach into it would be helpful but that's about all I see so far anyway....See MorePurses in Shopping Carts
Comments (35)Carla just because there are high tech means available for identity theft doesn't mean low tech ways aren't being used. Most identity theft still takes place through people's carelessness with their atm cards, social security numbers, receipts, bank statements and what they toss in the trash. A purse is simply the easiest one step way for a thief to get the info and multiple pieces of paperwork to make the job easier. Even if they intend to use the computer to do their misdeeds the paperwork makes it so much easier and less risky. Online bill paying is more secure than paying by check. Why? Because most identity theft is lo-tech. The media just likes the high tech story better so that's what people hear about. Sure there are phishing scams and whatever. Those are real threats but a well informed computer user has ways to protect themselves. It's where low-tech crime comes in that people get stupid. They walk around with a false sense of security. Just as in a "bad" area people will become more careful while feeling "safe" in the "better" area. Crooks know this so they come into the "good" ares to commit their crimes. While Mr. Press is reporting the gang bangers shooting each other in their neighborhoods the rest of the crew is off robbing Mr./Mrs. High End in their favorite bistro. Also if they get caught snatching a purse they do less time than for if caught internet crime. There are identity theft rings that use kids to snatch the purses and pick the pockets. Just like they use kids to run street drugs. Less risk doing big time. My DS is a high tech internet security expert. I've posted warnings he's sent me and those got pooh-poohed by some also. Either you are going to be street-wise on and off the 'puter or you're not. If you're not then one day you may become a victim of crime. Maybe not if you're lucky but you sure increase your chances. So it's kind of silly to justify lax security measures (ie leaving your purse where others can get it) when it's something so easily preventable....See MoreUser
