42 inch miele induction cooktop

Hello! We are finalizing our appliance choices and my husband (who is the main cook and I am the main baker) chose the 42 inch Miele. We cook for large family and friend events. We presently have a 48 inch gas cooktop which has provided lots of room for large pots and pans We are remodeling our kitchen and however, he has decided to switch to induction. After looking at all the induction cooktops, we could not find the 42 inch model to try out. He loves the idea of extra room and the bridge feature. However, I am wondering whether anyone has the 42 inch in their kitchen and how they are liking or disliking it? I know how the 42 inch size could be an issue for replacement. We are aware of that issue because we built our kitchen in 1992 with a Jenn Air 48 inch gas cooktop and hated it. The only other replacement we could find was another 48 inch Jenn Air which we have also found awful. I have read other postings here about the 42 inch, but none from anyone owing one currently.
