Plumbing cost during kitchen remodeling??
Comments (7)I was quoted $ 2500 for similiar work. My uncle made the referral. Meanwhile the same plumber retiled his bathroom and fixed a leak whick took about 3 days. All material was included in the price except the tiles. The price was much less and more labor intensive. You gotta watch those plumbers! nyc....See MoreIt was a trick and I fell for it!
Comments (19)I just love how we have so many bird lovers here at the KT. I think any animal that can live and survive and breed and raise babies in almost any kind of environment has to be very clever. Their decoy actions give them a real edge, apparently, because they raise babies quite well. Even their eggs are camoflauged, they look like stones. Since they don't use any nesting materials, they are really hard to find. Killdeer spend most of their time on the ground, they're like shorebirds without a shore, turns out they LOVE parking lots! (I did some Googling.) The photo is a baby, Stargazzer, the parents are much, much larger. They can't fly at first but they are able to run around and feed themselves because they stay in the egg for about 2 weeks longer than other baby birds that are dependent on their parents to feed them. Because of this, they travel around feeding on bugs and stuff as they go along. What's so cute is that even as very young babies, like the ones we saw today(so tiny, probably only days old) are the spitting image of their parents. A one-day old killdeer is actually 2 weeks older than a one-day old chickadee or robin. How cool is that?! Comments (2)I think I read it will grow back from the stump. That I should wait and see a bunch come up and then cut it down to one or two shoots and let those grow? Just curious would it have worked better to try and grow it from a stump if the 'stump' was a 10' trunk?...See MoreWhat have we done??? (demo)
Comments (28)Comgratulations on getting started! Demo is exciting because you can see the progress So easily! I totally get where you are coming from on the chaos. We started demo May 1 and finished up early July. It went by quick but some days felt like forever. One thing I would say is just do what works for you! We had a full kitchen set up in a lower area with a toaster oven, instant pot, microwave and single burner and a freezer full of made ahead meals but still ended up eating out most nights. It just got so hard because everything was dusty and we had to do dishes in the bathtub and after a few meals we just said, this is making life harder not easier and gave up. Yes, eating out added to the expense but it saved our sanity! Friends are doing a remodel right now but they have access to a bar sink and I think that makes a huge difference. i am glad you are happy with your plan and totally know what you mean about compromises and all the opinions! I finally got to the same place as you and just said, I know I am making compromises but this is SO much better than what we have it is fine! We LOVE our kitchen but you know the funny thing? The couple things that annoy me are NOTHING that were brought up on here during the planning! They are totally things you wouldn’t really know until you see how you live in and use the space. But it is still SO much better than what we have you will not hear me complain a bit!...See More- 7 years ago
