Propagate sycamore maple through seeds

Hello, I want to try and plant some sycamore maples (Acer Pseudoplatanus). I do have saplings at my disposal and will move them as well, but I also want to try and sew seeds as well. I found this fragment of info:

'' The seed can be harvested 'green' (when it has fully developed but before it has dried and produced any germination inhibitors) and sown immediately. It should germinate in late winter. If the seed is harvested too soon it will produce very weak plants or no plants at all''

When exactly is this interval? does anyone know? I'm guessing the seeds will be ripe in October, as with most deciduous trees in Northern Romania. The seed pods/wings are already starting to change color now from green to lighter hues. So the right period to harvest them ''green'' would be in September maybe? Or can I start now?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
