Free Chicken Sandwich @ McDonalds
Comments (7)Petaloid, if you're ever in a place that has a Chick-fil-A, go get one. They are SO good. They are exactly like the McDonalds one (I still think CFA should sue McD's for stealing their sandwhich idea (the ORIGINAL chicken sandwich) but the CFA ones are SO much tastier. Seriously. Their chicken is awesome. P.S. I don't like pickles, so I got it the same way I have my CFA sandwiches... no pickles, but with mayo. Comments (73)Annie, I'm so glad your FIL's doing better enough to be talking about bringing him home. That alone is a large Blessing at his age. We've learned a lot about handicapped issues in the past 3 years because of me. Our bathroom was the real challenge. We didn't want to put in what looked like a hospital bath for the reasons Lars noted. So, I spent a couple hundred hours searching online for alternatives. We'd been advised from multiple sources not to go the fiberglass handicapped tub/shower over an existing bath route so that was ruled out early in the process. I was able to find handicapped rails, grabbars, etc. in normal finishes, in our case, polished nickel. For the shower, here's what we ended up with... It's called an "easy access" rather than full handicapped. We also had double doors made that opened outwards with safety grabbars inside/out. The glass itself is also thicker than normal for more stability. We also installed a thermostatically controlled shower so I can't scald myself (I have advanced neuropathy so can't feel hot/cold). Everything in the room has been considered for ease of use. The vanity is higher than normal to limit bending. There are no hidden cabinets or closets that are hard to get into or to reach upper shelves, etc. Towels are in baskets under the vanity. Bathing products, extra TP, etc. reside on open easy accessible shelves. The toilet is also higher. Even one medicine cabinet is placed for ease of access to somebody with limited mobility. The stool swivels and I can reach almost everything without having to move. There are glides under the legs so I can move the stool with one finger. There are six hooks (some both inside and outside the shower) to hang clothes and/or towels easily. These pixs were taken before everything was fully put together but it gives a good idea of the finished room. It was a long haul but it's finally finished and is working perfectly. I can tend to all personal hygiene safely and without help. There's room to turn a walker around, if necessary, without the stool. Anyway, there are lots of options if you look around. /tricia...See MoreLOOKING for: Chick-fil-a recipe
Comments (2)I checked on-line and found at least 50 hits for this recipes. Many different versions. This one looks good: "Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich **Note- This was written by someone as a recipe they found comparable to Chick-Fil-A. As their lawyers have reminded me, Chick-Fil_A does not share their recipe and this is not THE recipe*** 3 cups Peanut oil 1 Egg 1 cup Milk 1 cup Flour 2-1/2 Teaspoons Powdered sugar 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper 2 Tablespoons Salt 2 Skinless, boneless chicken breasts, halved 4 Plain hamburger buns 2 Tablespoons Melted butter 8 Dill pickle slices Mix together the egg and milk. Place the filets in this mixture, and let sit for at least an hour. While the breasts are sitting, mix together the Flour, Sugar, Pepper, and Salt. Once the sitting is done, dredge in the flour. Place the Peanut oil in a deep fat fryer, and bring up to a high heat. Once up to 375 F., gently drop into the oil, and let cook until golden brown. (This is for those of us who do not have a pressure cooker. If you do, follow the note below!) Note: Chick-Fil-A actually uses a Pressure Cooker to cook the Filets in. If you have one, use the peanut oil according to the instructions for frying in it. Desired heat is 400 F. Once steam starts shooting through, cook for about 4 Minutes. Lightly butter the buns, and grill until heated through. Place two pickles on each bun, and place chicken on each. Comments (64)Speaking of trip advisor reviews, one of my favorites was for a restaurant in Paris. Almost all of the 300+ reviewers mentioned how they discovered this wonderful little restaurant, filled with locals and not tourists. First of all, didn't anyone notice 299 other people have already reviewed it so they really weren't the only tourist to stumble upon it. Second, unless you speak French and can differentiate regional accents, how do you know the other diners aren't French tourists, some hick from the sticks, and not an oh-so-glamorous-Parisian-from-the-hood? I'm sure many reviewers thought they blended right in and that the staff assumed they just moved onto the Rue. D'accord. I can't stand the baking bread smell from Subways. I usually LOVE baked bread and the aroma (swoon) but their smell is just wrong to me somehow, almost chemical? Besides that smell, I don't eat lunch meat or mayo based salads so I don't go there. My area doesn't have many of the above listed chains, because we're too small not because we have impossible food standards, so it's great I can file away a few names for future travel when I can't pack my own food. Last month while in NYC, we did eat at a Pret A Manger. And Magnolia Bakery (another swoon). I will eat at a Chipotle. I've noticed they definitely give my husband more food than they give me, which is fine based on our sizes, but it's also wrong based on we pay the same amount. I'm getting slightly cheated! It has happened more than once, in different states. It's bizarre....See MoreUser
