Anyone use SW muslin for walls??
Comments (2)A friend of mine just built a lovely new home and used Muslin throughout. It is too 'safe' for me, but it did turn out to be a nice creamy pale pale golden tan. It does have an almost imperceptible green undertone....See MoreWhat furniture/decor matches SW Pavilion Beige? Pics Included
Comments (6)Thank you everyone for the compliments - you really do not know how much they mean to me!!! I get what everyone is saying - you can't suggest a color without know if that's a color I hate with a passion or love it. Yes - I've looked @ PB & Restoration Hardware...and love love love...but I guess my problem is recreating the look with a much smaller budget. Anyone have tips or creating similar looks for less? Or how to get rugs that are similar to PB that are 8x10 at a reasonable price? I keep my eye on cragslist and ebay, but no luck so far - even though I live in Houston and have a lot of options open to me. Anyone know of any good sites that provide rugs that are almost idenical in style. By style,I mean their persian theirian rugs - something soft in color, not so bold. I've looked at the usual common site like o.com, homedecorators.com, and so forth...is there any uncommon website that you can suggest? I like blues and greens - I guess I need a suggest of what type of blue? Navy Blue? Blue grey Also, what a good accent color to go with blue and greens? I currently have a lot of red and what to stay away from it. While I do like red, its a common palette in my city...to see a house decorated in beige, browns, reds...I want to be traditional but not bland. I was thinking about creating a DIY Moroccan rug, that I've seen on blogs... Would something similar to the Horchow rug in the link below, be too bold? If it could a moroccan style rug could be pulled off I would want to do white and another color...would you do white/navy (what color would you want dominate the white or the navy?), white/grey, white/ brown, white/green...or any other color you would suggest?? Ok I'll stop rambling at the mouth................ Here is a link that might be useful: Bold? Horchow Rug...See MoreFavorite off white SW color for kitchen cabinets?
Comments (48)I have been reading this forum for a while, but never posted. Thanks to all of you who have provided useful insight. I'm in the middle of updating my very white 90s kitchen. I had to write b/c the posts are really SO helpful. And I feel its time to reciprocate. I had a interior decorator help me choose the white/cream for my cabinets. It was an agonizing decision. She recommended "LINEN WHITE" by BMoore with a nice brownish glaze. I am very pleased and would highly recommend the color to anyone looking for something in between cream and white. For a while I really wanted the color "simple irresistible, also by BM. But the decorator convinced me to go with something whiter and let the glaze add the depth. I'm so glad I did. It was worth the $50.00 for that advice!...See MoreNeed a color between SW Antique White and SW creamy
Comments (24)The foyer was another color in the picture. I had forgotten that. It was something like SW Napery I'm guessing. I didn't paint it. I've painted it SW Creamy since then. The point that I wanted to make with the colors was it all depends on the light. Both rooms were painted the same color. But, the rooms face different directions and have different lighting. For a while I was using a lot of Dover White for trim and cabinetry and Napery for the walls, but I moved into a new home where the previous owner had used some Creamy. I liked how it worked with my wood flooring and furnishings. I ended up using Creamy in two more houses, both walls and trim. I wanted a neutral as possible because I have warm furnishings. Only Alabaster has a lighter LRV than Creamy. Nothing in my home has any grey in it. But, I didn't want things to cast yellow. I found both Alabaster and Creamy to be very complimentary with my furnishings and the flooring the room. I ended up painting the exterior of my home Alabaster. In the bright light of day, the Creamy had too much yellow in it for my exterior when it was put side to side with the Alabaster. But, it was perfect inside. Alabaster would have worked, but the Creamy on the interior works really nicely....See MoreKarla Tamez
