Keeping an indoor sunflower plant alive at sea

I work on a motor yacht currently cruising the mediterranean. We now have an indoor sunflower plant to keep in the bridge. I'm unsure exactly what variety of sunflower it is, but it has one main flower head with smaller flowers growing. We've had it for a week and the main head is suffering but smaller flowers continue to bloom and grow at great health. It wasn’t in great shape when we got it so we used some boron based fertiliser which helped it to perfect health, it is now back at its original sate (see photo). We have done some

research that we've been following; 22 degrees celsius room, constant sunlight, watering daily/when the soil feels a dry, drainable pot. With indoor sunflower plants do they still need to be taken outside for sunlight/fresh air? Is sunlight though windows enough? Can anyone identify what kind of species it is and if it needs be repotted into a bigger pot? Please help me keep this plant alive!!
