LR Part IV: What do you think of new rug? Paint suggestions?
Comments (10)Wow, what a difference! Pretty rug and nice improvement; the furniture went from red to caramel! Will leave color discussion to the pros, but even the current color looks better with that new rug!...See MoreI'm trying out a new recliner in the room - what do you think?
Comments (12)Would you like to try a couple of different arrangements? One is to put the big chair back where it was, then place the two recliners together at the end of the room. Put the end tables on either side of the sofa like you had them. Then find a table to put between the two recliners. You can try them angled toward each other a bit or just have them lined up straight at a 90 with the sofa. Between the fireplace next to the recliner, I would probably have a big basket with magazines, or throws and pillows. A tall plant in the corner by the window would be great. Second, take the big chair out of the equation and place the recliners across from the sofa on either side of the fireplace. I would put them on a 45ish degree facing inward. Each should have a small table to use for drinks/lamp/whatever you'd like to put there. This will leave the end wall completely open, but I think it will be easier to imagine different pieces of furniture/art there. Definitely get your furniture placed in a way that makes you think "ahhhh, this is perfect". THEN we can worry about the art and accessories. I was surprised to see two recliners. Didn't you only have one before?...See MoreI bought the rug, what do you think?
Comments (38)Hmm. not sure what I am going to do just yet about the placement. Unfortunately I can't play around with it until my DH returns home next week to help me... Until then it will stay just where it is!!! @prill, it def. is not a turquoise blue.. more of that blue/grey/green (or spa) color -Similar to what Restoration Hardware called Silver Sage. It changes with the light but it does not show turquoise in my house....See MoreWhat do you think? I need some help with window treatments!! Please!
Comments (18)I wouldn't go with a plain fabric but something such as what Jodie White posted on the right - something with some texture or as kelleg69 suggested, a geometric pattern that is a tone on tone. You also really need to think long and hard about how you feel about colour. If you do like colour you could try a yellow/grey pattern or an aqua/grey or cherry red/grey (ok that might be a little out there). Do you have some ideas as to what colours you will have as an accent in towels, mats, etc....See MoreDanielle Black
