UMM NO THEY DID NOT DO EVERYTHING CORRECTLY!! That's why they are called SHIPPING bolts, they should not of taken the out until you received the unit. Did they give them to you??? If not they need to provide them to you because if you move reptile moving company will not touch them. What warranty company ?? Speed Queen ??? Manufacturer most likely would not cover it if that was the case.

Exactly my feeling. No they did not give them to me even though I requested that they provide them. The worst thing is I had no idea they were removed so my GC and his plumber are moving the thing around on a dolly tilted up - definitely what SQ says not to do. The Kid, I say that as he is very young and has worked there for 9 months and obviously is in need of training both in service and customer service told me "we do not deliver things we remove and throw away" They can't seem to understand that they were NEVER supposed to remove them in the first place nor throw them away . Extemely poor service from my perspective.

Their preferred warranty company is supposedly authorized by Speed Queen but not listed as first on the SQ list of servicers for this area. I plan on writing to the store manager, one of the family owners of the business. How much that will do, you can probably guess Definitely, probably not a store I will be buying furninture or tiles or anything in the future. Dadoes says I'm probably OK. I know he knows his stuff and I hope he's right.

I have moved a few frontloaders (not new, machines that were already in use) across town without shipping bolts, lifted at an angle from the ground up to a pick-up bed, and back down, and on a dolly into the destination house. No damage occurred. Also moved two (one was approx 60 miles distance, the other approx 200 miles) from one city to another (one of those more than once), no damage. Damage shouldn't occur if the machine is handled with reasonable care. Tilting it is not a serious problem, the tub won't jostle any more than it does when an off-balance load is spinning. Laying one down flat to attach pedestals is of more concern. Whomping one up several flights of stairs in an apartment building ... of more concern. Handled by a hired moving crew for a cross-country relocation ... of more concern.

Thanks again. SQ in their manual says if you move the machine more than 4 feet a problem unless you have the blocks in. I'm a female and we tend to read directions :))

So I was highly distressed. My Gc said relax, my plumber would have been the guy who installed and NOT removed the blocks, huge problem for a customer who doesn't know whats up. Shesh does anyone know what theyare doing? I hope this is our last move, but I said that when we bought the SQ in Florida. They were way more professional and I always thought the Florida was the flim flam state. Not so!! I paid way more for the SQ in Utah got no electric pig tail and got really unprofessional service.

Call the business owner if it's a family business. Read him SQ's statement. Tell him you want the shipping bolts. And you're hoping no problems turn up.

I doubt that a service company would take the time to install shipping bolts if they need to load-up a machine from someone's home into a van to take it in to a local shop for a repair procedure.

Frontloaders weren't yet in-vogue when I worked for a Whirlpool dealer. Old-style belt-drive Whirlpool/Kenmore toploaders had shipping bolts that anchored the baseplate to the cabinet. For all the many times we picked up a machine from a customer's house to bring it in to the shop, we *never* installed shipping bolts.

Here my question, was this a floor model??? If not then according to what you said they unboxed, took the bolts out than shipped it ???? That's not right. You need to get them to order you new ones. About once or twice a year I have a customer come in looking for them because the moving company will not touch them without.

I had questioned them as to whether it was a floor model. Definitely not she said as she remembered ordering the machines for me. I can't believe anything they say at this point.

tjmwine, unfortunately SQ no longer produces the front loader. I felt fortunate that I was able to order one jan 19 and receive it mar 1 finally get it installed this month due to renovation.
