Comments (36)Nightrider: This type of weather is typical of most summers. Last summer was really "out of this world" for San Antonio. What's going on here is, we haven't had any rain this spring or during the winter. Those spring/winter rains are crucial for getting plants established. Sometimes we get summer storms and floods, but it will be like a week here or there..as opposed to a whole summer of rain. We don't have a regular summer rain pattern because San Antonio and much of Central Texas is often dominated by a climatic summer weather pattern called, "The subtropical high". It is literally hot, dry weather pattern that extends from the desert southwest. During the peak of summer, (late July-mid August) the subtropical high will extend up to Oklahoma City. I'm from Wisconsin and I wish I had more positive things to say about our typical summers. Currently, there is a wall of thunderstorms that is traveling from Abilene heading toward the Hill Country. WE MIGHT GET RAIN THIS MORNING!!! It is headed directly for Austin. But I'm afraid it's going to pass us to the east. I pray that it comes here!!! I got spoiled last summer too. I was thinking that maybe our weather was changing for the better. Hah!! Well, I've blabbed on here... I hope it rains....See MoreSurvivor: guess I'll try one more time tonight
Comments (15)I found last night really interesting. I was bored with the first show. But there's a whole lotta crazy on the faves team between Brandon and Phillip. I'm not sure if Phil is putting us on, but Brandon is certifiably psycho. He is a little freak who I truly believe is bipolar or has some sort of classified personality disorder. He scares me. As to the fans, next week looks interesting. I would have jumped at the chance to get rid of Shemar, he is a 300# lazy a@@ bully. And the dude with the "bulge" in his pants--what a fool! He had other places he could have hidden that immunity idol. Looks like Shemar brings the dramz next week....See MoreAre You a One Room at a Time or a Here and There Decorator?
Comments (31)We just moved into a brand new home, and being that it's our first place, we moved in w/ NOTHING! I had an 'idea' of what I wanted to do in the rooms since I had a bunch of time to think about it while it was being built, but no absolutes. Once we moved in, I did one room at a time pretty much. Since I had an idea of what I wanted to do in each room, if I found something that was just perfect for a room, i'd buy it, but I woudln't attempt to 'decorate' with it. Instead it would just sit in that room and wait until I was ready for it :) We finished the kitchen first, then the family room, and now I'm almost done the master bedroom. We've been in the house 2 months. I have purchased the furniture for the 'formal' living room, but haven't done much else in there. The only reason I have already bought it is because it was on sale BIG TIME at Macy's and I had been eying it for months. My mom on the other hand decorates all rooms at the same time. I think it discourages her though since she doesn't get to see the final result of anything for a long time. GOod luck decorating!...See MoreI'm gonna try one more time!
Comments (20)I, too, have finally settled into the idea that when it comes to a good hair cut, you do get what you pay for - this is my truth. It makes me mad, but I'm resigned. I have also found that the same person will give me a great cut (how well it grows out determines how good the cut was) for about a year, then she will mess it all up twice and I'm on the hunt for another stylist. In this area, there are a bunch of them, so I'm lucky in that area. I tip very well. Which is another thing that bugs me, those who are renting their space (better stylists do) set their own prices and work for themselves charge the earth already - but still expect the big tip. I want a great cut so I pay my dues and tip very well. It keeps them happy when the sissors hit their hands. But I have my own little revenge - I color my own hair! I learned how to do it and I get great satisfaction out of keeping that money and doing it myself for about $10 in product....See MoreLaura twixanddud - SE MI - 5b
