Ed, I'd consider 3 by 8 instead of 4x8. Better yet, 3 by 12, since your boards are 12 foot. I had the 4x4 beds first and was constantly circling around them to do stuff, especially in the early part of preparing and planting. I found it irritatingYou can step over a 3 foot width. Right now I have a 3 foot wide, what i call, growing strip that edges the south and east side of my (small) yard. I just have a stepping stone about every six or 8 feet so I can step across. My growing bed is surrounded by the sidewalk on the outsides, which is kind of nice. I can stand on the sidewalk and tend to that side of the garden. This is my first year at this house, but nobody has bothered it so far. Gardens are great therapy for helping to heal the greiving. Hope it goes well for you.

THANK YOU all for commenting and making it worth all the time & trouble I went through!! Liberty Banner seems to be a favorite here and rightly so. I ordered all my Weitz daylilies directly from the hybridizer before she stopped selling. I have quite a few of hers and Liberty Banner is my favorite. Her website picture and the few photos of it online show it more crimson so I can't say what color it will be for you, Debra. In my garden it is deep purple, as my photo shows. But everything wants to be purple here....! Laura, I will have to post photos on the database when the season is over and I have more time. Thanks for the suggestion. Mantis, Kitty Bannerman is beautiful WHEN she opens properly. I have to be honest and say it gets hung up a lot of the times after a cool night. It's not my favorite Weitz cultivar for that reason. I try to stay away from those with frilly edges but thought since it was a northern hybridized daylily it would do better. Harmon Hill does have a few of the Weitz cultivars but I actually have more of them. My favorite Weitz daylilies in addition to LB are Spirit of the Dove, Happy is the Heart and A Walk in the Clouds and Carl doesn't sell those. Those are just wonderful performing daylilies, healthy and hardy, great bloomers and vigor. Victoria Grace is a good daylily for me, but not exceptional. My favorite thing about it is it's color is so vibrant and holds up well. Bahama Butterscotch is a blooming machine and multiplies faster than rabbits. I keep having to divide up the clump. Yes, blooms are on the smaller side but it always looks like a bouquet with so many open at once. And it's super hardy. Nat, I threatened Night Beacon last summer that it only had one more year to shape up or it would ship out. And the little bugger listened! It has more blooms than ever (but still not a great bud count, but acceptable finally) and every bloom has been perfect. Next year it could be a dud again and might have to go. What!? Only 2 more already, noooooo. Tribal was great. They are crazy if they let him get to the end, he really made Aurora, Ron and the Etsy woman look bad! He will win it all if he makes it. Man I hope Wentworth doesn't come back. Of the people left, they are all just coat tail riders. Talk about no "resume", at least Gavin, Victoria and the Etsy chick. Doggone it I can't remember her name haha. Wait, Julie I think. Eta.....I don't like the family thing either. And honestly, the uncontrollable crying and carrying on, eh, makes me want to say to them, think of military families, mom or dad deployed for a year! Come on!

I am a HUGE Survivor fan, watched it since day one. But...I still haven't watched the first two shows. Why do they keep bringing back "fan faves?" I don't recall Phillip being a fave. He and his undies are just gross.

Maybe I'm finally getting tired of it like I did with American Idol?

I am a Malcolm fan (he reminds me of my son) so I am so rooting for him to get to the end. I have been enjoying it but sure wish they would show Malcolm more. They do feature Phillip alot and this Brandon, keeps going back and forth about being bad or good. I am finding it interesting. It is the show my Dad and I watch together, it is our weekly time together.

I'll watch it when ol' fart pink shorts is gone, I check around 8 to see who was eliminated (I'm on the west coast) and go from there...

I found last night really interesting. I was bored with the first show. But there's a whole lotta crazy on the faves team between Brandon and Phillip. I'm not sure if Phil is putting us on, but Brandon is certifiably psycho. He is a little freak who I truly believe is bipolar or has some sort of classified personality disorder. He scares me.

As to the fans, next week looks interesting. I would have jumped at the chance to get rid of Shemar, he is a 300# lazy a@@ bully. And the dude with the "bulge" in his pants--what a fool! He had other places he could have hidden that immunity idol. Looks like Shemar brings the dramz next week.

Wonder if writers prepare scripts for certain participants like the Marine, Phillip, Brandon just to make the viewers dislike them, thus watch the show more???????

I don't know who decided any of these folks were favorites but most of them weren't even liked the first time around. More like fans and villans. Malcolm and Dawn are ok. The rest are either crazy or someone I don't even remember. BUT I will keep watching.

Why did they vote that girl off instead of Shamar?? I felt the same way last week, why not get rid of Phil first. I would get rid of toxic people ASAP~~I would not want to be on an island with crazy or lazy people that just ramage around yelling like that Shamar does, he does not even seem to want to blend in. If they keep that Phil around much longer is is going to in a very bad way control their game;(

I agree about the favorites. Who ever liked Philip and that crazy azz Brandon? I like Dawn, Malcolm and Cochran. The blonde woman on the fans w/ the facelift must be the one worth millions.
