I read where in 2017, some 2.3 billion account credentials were stolen because of 51 independent “credential spill incidents”.

Credential stuffing are large scale cyberattacks where criminals use stolen credentials over a mass amount of logins. These attacks are often successful because of users reusing passwords, said the release, which is no surprise, as 25% of employees use the same passwords for every account. Attackers then use the information to commit various fraudulent actions, from unauthorized bank transfers to online purchases.

I use a unique one for each website, but a similar naming convention so that I can remember them. I guess if someone figured that out, they could figure out all my passwords but I'm not really worried about being singled out like that.

I use extra security steps on banking and other important sites.

I sometimes use a password more than once for non-critical websites. For instance, I have the same user name and password for my FB, Instagram and Twitter anonymous accounts.

All critical accounts and any that link to financial data have passwords specific to that account.

I found a "thread" on the other WS Forum, so got some of questions answered there. Our "blue box" stuff is usually put out in clear blue garbage bags. Darn!! Can't even see the plastic containers, let alone try to "pinch" some. Now that I know waht to look for, I will keep my eye open for suitable trays/pots at garagae sales, dollar stores, etc. Gee, isn't WS fun!!.

If I understand you correctly clearing the cache will do it, but the list will rebuild again with IE use. Perhaps, Tool>Internet Options>Content tab>Auto Complete Settings>Check or uncheck what you wish>OK out. Depending on the action you take this would restrict or prohibit the cache building. In the alternative while in the Settings you could just click on the "Delete Auto Complete History". DA

My subzero is going on 28 years now. And still going. Mine is also the model with the water and ice in the door. that wood in the kitchen looks beautiful and very appropriate for the PNW. So you may (probably) still get another 10+ years out of this. Some considerations are: If you did replace it now, what would you replace it with? If you were going to do, another subzero of similar size I would think about keeping this one until it dies. although making new panels would be an expenseI would check into the dimensions of panels for current models. What would the cost be for new panels that would tie into your new design. How does this size work for your new plan? Would you go smaller or larger.? If you plan on larger some day then your cabinets you put in with this one would not accommodate a bigger refrigerator down the line If smaller, say 36 inch fridge, you could either make filler panels around the new refrigerator later or even custom pullout spice racks. If you are not putting in another built in, the quality of a regular refrigerator would be very different. Plus you may not like the bulk of a regular refrigerator. if you do decide to replace it, I would definitely keep it in the garage as an extra frig. in my vacation house, I have gone through 3 frigs in 10 years. and they either die in summer when I have a house full of guests or in winter when there is nobody here and it leaks all over the floor. While waiting for repairs from the place i had bought #2 from, I was left without a frig for 6 weeks over summer. I hope you decide you love that warm wood, though.

I save all plastic bags and give them to my sister to crochet mats for the homeless. She can use any that's he can cut loops out of including toilet paper ones if you open the ends instead of tearing down the side. I takes 5 or 600 bags to make one mat. she can also use dry cleaning bags, .like I said it would be any cylindrical bags. The mats are 6 ft long and 2 1/2 feet wide and have a carrying handle and loops to hold them together when they carry them. I save bread bags. I use those for all kinds of things. I guess o got that from my DM. I have just started using worn out socks for rags. My DH goes through socks fast. I use single slippers for on my Swiffer. I saved the bottom part of my old litter box and cleaned it up really good and use that for soaking clothes in OXy CLean. I also save twisty ties. I have some of those nut jars too. Mine had fruit in them at the restaurants I cooked at. Here is the big one. I save almost all of the glass jars that I get. I use them for canning. If they have the rubber inside of the lid they work. I like the small ones, so if I want to give something to somebody They don't have to return the jar. I always make pickled beets and give some away. I boil the lids just like I would Kerr or Ball lids and fill the jars and screw them on tight. I had one jar that wouldn't work once because the lid wouldn't tighten. It just kept turning. I just made sure I used that one first. then I threw it away. I also put other things in them

Like chi, I use a naming convention for quick recall of site-specific differences for sites that matter. For ones that don't matter, I tend to reuse passwords from among a small list of favorites. Even for financial sites, I have no concern about fraudulent access, I'm not liable for that and no other individual account holder is either.

I have several passwords. I have to keep a little black book because of that. Each page with its own website, user name and current password. I used a mix of numbers, upper and lower case letters and a symbol every single time.

Never use the same password. And like, Debby, use a mix of numbers, upper and lower case letters, and symbol(s). Although, some websites do not allow the usage of symbols, I have found.

Here's another way to handle passwords. Make a password list and keep it handy. Only you will know which password is your password. For me it would look something like this.

It doesn't need to be complicated. For forums, I use the name of my favorite fishing lake name and address. So easy to remember.

My SIL is a partnered web developer and he generates passwords for a fee. Yes, some businesses pay to have a personal password developed for employees.

Actually I use a password vault program/app called Keepass. There are others similar to it. It keeps track of all my 200+ passwords used on various websites. For a forum where there is no chance of me losing money, I will use a relatively simple password of 8 characters or so. For banking I use the maximum characters allowed by the website. Usually that is 15 but I have one for insurance that is a 32 character password. The vault software hooks into the browser and makes it easy to sign in no matter how complicated the password is.

A bank's website is one to put on the list of those where there's no chance of you losing money from an unauthorized log-on.

And there's also the smart phone code. You don't need to remember any password once you establish yourself at the site. The site will recognize your computer and send a code to your phone. Type in the code and you're in. Easy, Simple. Safe.
