Is this flash drive a decent buy?
Comments (8)Your idea of using 2 thumb drives makes perfect sense. Then you always have 2 backups up to the point of the older copy. Not too much would be lost. Kingston has a respected name so you are doing good there too. Flash drive, thumb drive, memory stick all similar. However I have 2 what I call thumb or flash drives which are a one piece thing you simply plug in a USB port. I also have one which has a removeable memory card the same as those used in digital cameras. This also uses the USB port of course, I am not sure if it has any advantages over the one piece drives. We'll see what others think on the matter hopefully....See MoreAny decent decaf coffees?
Comments (19)I've been drinking decaf for years now. If I combine caffeine and sugar, I get "the shakes." So a typical breakfast of coffee & a sweet roll would do me in. But the real reason I swtiched to decaf was because of tinnitus. Too much caffeine results in weird crackling noises in my ears. That said, I've tried all kinds of brands available in grocery stores. I like dark blends the best, and they are hard to find, especially in whole beans. I've found a good independent coffe house fairly close by that sells wonderful freshly rosted beans, but sometimes I simply can't make it over there. So I depend on the grocery store until I can make the trip. The Dunkin Donuts was good tasting but only came in pre-ground. So it staled quickly. Peet's has a few good choices: Major Dickason's, Sumatra, and Mocca-Java. Most of the time, however, they, too, are pre-ground. Starbucks Sumatra and Caffe Verona aren't too bad either. I've also used the Trader Joe's French Roast and Columbian. (I combined them to make a strong, bolder taste.) Maybe ordering online would be worth looking into. Then I wouldn't have to worry about getting to the local coffee house or making sure I stop at Safeway because it's the only store that carries whole bean Starbucks Sumatra....See Moredecently priced natural stone subway tiles for kitchen backsplash
Comments (4)I've been on a similar hunt myself! Here are a few resources I've found. http://www.tileshop.com/walltile/subway.aspx They offer free shipping on all orders over $100. I've got a sample coming from this company. Should be here Friday so I'll let you know how it looks. http://www.basketweavemosaics.com/3-x-6-marble-subway-ti36.html http://www.buytile.com Here is a link that might be useful: tileshop.com...See MoreWhere to find decent wall clocks that don't cost an arm and a leg?
Comments (38)The problem with wall clocks is that so many of them do not keep accurate time. Even fairly expensive ones. We have a lovely wood 24" wall clock that requires a ladder and strong arms during time changes. It is currently 8 minutes "off" and ready for the "fall back". I have gone through a dozen $60-100 clocks that got returned, or tossed in a corner, because they would lose 5 minutes every week. They make me crazy! My goal is to convert to high-quality time-keepers throughout the house and be done it. So far, I have been able to afford "one"==but it is a start!...See Morearcy_gw
