I agree. I even water my large Brown Turkey fig tree that has been in the ground for years when it is this dry. I use the drip system over a period of time so that it all soaks in.

It definitely needs to stay outside with lots of morning sun. When you water, you need to be sure to saturate every inch of the pot to reach all roots. If you put a cupful of water at a time, then soon all of the other roots not getting the water could die. Depending on how fast the water is running out of the pot and that depends on the soil, you may need to water really well every other day when the temps are in the 90s like they've been. When it is stressed it will drop the leaves but that doesn't mean it's dead or dormant. Plants go dormant when the days get shorter, it's the loss of sun.

Is there a reason you don’t have it in the ground?

i have no place where im able to put it in the ground. the pot i moved it into is at least 15 gallons

That should be good (15 gal) because you do have a lot of roots. Now fill it up with water really well making sure that the whole pot of soil gets totally wet. Somebody said to water and let it settle and then water it again a few minutes later to make sure that it is well watered and I think that's a good idea. You might even want to find a saucer to put under it since you're leaving it in a pot.

Figs will re-leaf again and may even fruit again. Mine fruits several times per year.

It won't use very much water without leaves, be careful to not let the new soil around the rootball stay wet, apply the water slowly to the rootball when you water because that is what will dry out first until new roots grow... The structure is kind of branchy and that will stunt growth, I'd chop it back to stubs and that will encourage vigorous top growth and new roots as a result.
