I'm losing all my rosemary cuttings.

I'm in socal. These cuttings are about 6months old, and were initially set out of direct sunlight for the most part. They got morning sun, and that's it. They grew pretty well for 5 months, after forming a nice root ball.

They haven't grown much though. These were all 6 inch cuttings, and still remain no more than 7" tall.

I thought I could get them to grow faster, so I moved them into direct sunlight for most of the day, on the driveway, and they were doing well in May-June.

Then the summer heat came this month. We had several days of 100+F. I don't know if the excess heat on concrete killed a bunch of them.

I watered sparingly. And a good number of them died.

A few more are starting to look sad.

Now I moved them back to where they were during the Spring; morning sunlight only.

And during the hottest time of the day, they're out of direct sunlight, but still bright enough.

The soil mix is 60% sand, with drainage holes.

I started with 23 cuttings, and now I'm down to 13.

I need whatever advice before I lose all of them.

I want them to grow bigger faster, and I'm not sure if the morning sunlight is enough.
