Comments (27)I bought a recliner in the Greenwood Indiana store on March 13 shortly after moving to the area and due to my rural location I opted to have the item delivered. My phone number changed during this time but Ashley had my correct Internet email address. The whole of March went by without a delivery or contact with Ashley. Finally, I went down to the Greenwood store on April 9 and gave them my current phone number. On Wednesday April 13 they called and told me they would be there between 3 and 6 pm Thursday. Waited around all day Thursday till after 6 pm. Nothing. No delivery, no phone call, nothing. Called up Friday mornoing, April 15. Was assured delivery would be between 3-6pm that day, Friday. Had to do things so arrived back at my place a few minutes after 3. Found a door hanger that Ashley had been there but missed me. A call to the number on the door hanger yielded the info that the delivery person had waited an hour and left the hanger at 3:08 pm. If so, he arrived at my place well outside the 3-6 pm window. Called Ashley and they said the "window" was just a suggested time. How about the truth- that you should stay at your house all day to wait for the delivery? At least you won't get people pissed off that way. Now my stuff won't be delivered until Wednesday April 20 even though it was paid for in full March 13. I read the contract, and even though Ashley's performance has been abysmal, I can't get a refund. Bullsh*t. Because of this company's lackadaisical attitude towards customer service, they will get no repeat service. I for one will never spend another dime with them. And I will tell everyone I know who is contemplating a purchase with Ashley Furniture of my experience. In five years they will be gone and people will say "Ashley who?" Bottom line: If it's not in stock and they want you to order it, don't spend your money there. In manufacturing, this is known as JIT (just-in-time) ordering. That means it isn't built until it's ordered. Fine for manufactiuring but terrble for retailing. The merchant is fully protected, and the customer bears all the responsibility and consequence. Bottom line: Ashley Furniture are crooks!...See MoreFlexsteel vs. Lane vs. Natuzzi leather sectionals
Comments (52)Classic Leather is also handmade in NC. Classic uses a mixture of hardwoods not all of their frames are solid and not all of their frames are true 8-way hand-tied, it depends on the style. Bradington Young is more economical because they use a multiply laminated hardwood frame in place of the solid knot free kiln dried hardwood frames used by Leathercraft. Bradington Young is now a division of Hooker Furniture rather than a family owned business like both Classic and Leathercraft are. Both Classic and leathercraft cater to a higher end customer, they are both willing to make custom changes on all their products within reason. Bradington Young is more main stream they cater more to the masses, they do not like to change up patterns and such but are willing to make subtle changes to their frames like adding or deleting nail trim and they do offer seating or cushion options like both Leathercraft and Classic. All three of these manufactures are based in North Carolina and build outstanding products and yes we do sell all three brands at our store that is why I can comment on this topic as an expert because we are a leather specialty company and my experience comes from years of working with these exceptional leather furniture manufactures....See MoreAshley furniture quality?
Comments (58)Ashley Furniture has very low-grade furniture and limited to no customer service or recourse after you purchase from them. I bought a sofa that started falling apart after 2 days, 500 calls later ( no exaggeration) they would not A) take it back in the first 2 days. B) honor the 1-year warranty C) honor the extended 5-year protection plan purchased. ( you purchase from a 3rd party company that doesnt answer the phone which I believe was bought out by Ashley years ago) There are massive similar complaints online and a previous class action lawsuit. Someone needs to step in and make them stop churning out bad furniture , then have unsuspecting people purchase on credit, then never abide by laws and fairness. Just google "complaints Ashley Furniture". I normally do not post bad reviews, but I wish I would have seen the massive complaints before I made a big purchase. ( they time and time again tried to blame the franchise system but I purchased from a corporte store). They also sent me a letter stating that if I win against them they would "automatically" send it to collections ( and ruin my credit) , which I called back to explain why that again is not correct and stupid to print and break the fair billing practice act, and credit laws. 2 years later I finally won. Was it worth it? yes and no..massive wasted time but I do not like being treated like garbage after a purchase and a legitimate complaint. How many other people will be willing to dig their heels in and go into a dog fight over a cheap sofa. (thats part of the reason I followed thru). I am in the financial services industry 25 years if they did it to me they will do it to you....See MoreMacy's furniture...Yes or No?
Comments (36)DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM MACYS AND THEIR FRAUDULENT WORRY NO MORE INSURANCE PLAN. Bought a a large sectional and an 8 seater dining table set with chairs from Macys furniture and was forced to buy their worry no more protection plan assuring it would give us "peace of mind" for 5 years, would cover accidental damage, stains, rips etc etc etc and repair or replace it "immediately". Below is the aftermath of the purchase: The leg of the dining bench came off twice and worry no more sent a technician each time to stick it back up with glue....yeah you read that right, just glue it all the way back for it to come off again. We gave up on this one. The sofa part of my sectional had a tear and I have been waiting since July 2023 to get a replacement! Transferred between innumerable worry no more departments to get a simple technician visit that was outsourced to one of their third party vendors and then had to get on calls between worry no more and their third party vendor to know the date of the technician visit and the outcome of the visit. The technician was very unprepared and rude and neither worry no more nor their vendor had any professionalism to let the customer know of their decision. Then made calls to Macys and Worry no More to get information on their sales check for replacement of the sofa. Please notice how none of the business entities have the basic professionalism or courtesy to keep the customer informed! It is March of 2024 and I am still waiting for my sofa! The dining chairs had accidental spills on the same day, one was covered because I didnt try to clean it but other, which I tried to clean was not covered because according to worry no more, it appeared "blotchy". Then why are they giving us solutions to clean fabric? Try talking to Macys furniture customer service and you will be treated to the biggest scam and arrogance of your life - their first line of defence is "you will have to speak to worry no more for their decisions". They have no empathy for what the customer is going through, defend themselves foolishly, are vey delusional because they have no idea of best practices in the industry and claim boisterously that customers wait for years to get their furniture delivered (because Macys is just a middleman) and have no influence with manufacturer or insurance companies on behalf of whom they are selling. They can do nothing for the customer. They dont have the power to even raise a simple escalation to higher authorities. In the digital era, we have to write a "letter" to their PO Box in Ohio to make a complaint or get any resolution!!! Even emails wont work for any complaints! Then at the very least they should stop selling any protection plans because they wash off their hands the moment a sale is made. So yes, from my personal experience and reading those of others, I strongly suggest NOT TO BUY FURNITURE FROM MACYS OR THEIR PHONY PROTECTION PLANS....See MoreRobyn Sonny
