Comments (2)I did a bench in my bathroom. I painted it a burgundy color then I sanded it with a belt or orbital sander then I stained over the top with a walnut stain. You can make it as dark as you want with the stain. If you there a areas you don't like add more paint or stain. Comments (8)Tall order. Perhaps someone who follows stone and tile can suggest some products for you. In the past, there was available a product called Barre Slate by the Kentile company. It was a solid vinyl product that was very realistic looking. Also, we had available large sheets of solid vinyl in stone and slate looks that could be cut and fashioned to look like the real thing. You might be able to find such a product still out there or possibly the same thing in slab rubber. Were you to find a slab vinyl or rubber in the right look, it could be cut and fashioned in the sizes you'd want and then grouted with an epoxy grout (same as you would with tile), I have done such a thing and the results were incredible.
