A nice day for the park

A local community hosts an annual cherry festival at their park. Cherry ice cream, pies, tarts, vendors selling everything from Tupperware, Scentsy, financial planning, hand crafted items, etc. Some classic cars, rides, music, food trucks.

It was nice to wander and see the sites and smells.

On the way in, a fellow was handing out tickets to an event next week. A free one-hour personality test to find out your key traits to success and happiness. It's the Church of Scientology. Yikes! Will I see Tom Cruise or John Travolta?

A cherry festival sounds like fun! I sure could go for a piece of cherry pie right now.

I wish it were nice here! We hit 112 yesterday and it's only slightly cooler today. I'm staying inside all day and hoping my AC can keep up.

The weather turned out to be much nicer than announced last night. That's good! Glad you enjoyed the park, Kareen--although I was a bit surprised you went to the tulip Festival, as I remember your telling me you did not care much for tulips (but could be that my memory is failing me .. again)!! I usually go see the tulips either before or right after as I do not enjoy crowds. I Just might get my bike out, and see those colors on Monday... I have such a nice display of tulips at home, that I haven't felt the urge to go yet. Shame on me! Anyway, we took a drive around the countryside and found ... some virginia bluebells in FULL bloom--just lovely, BUT.. this does not quite look like my 'un-indentified' plant... Oh well, I'll have to wait a little longer to see what it turns out to be. Anne-Marie

Chi, we had blistering temps all last week, since the end of June. Horrible. With the humidex, feeling like the mid 40'sC. Back to normal today with 28-29C and no humidity. Still warm in the sun, so walking in the shade of the trees was welcoming.

That sounds like a wonderful day in the park. My first thought about the Church of Scientology test was the same as Bobbi's :-)

115° here. Cherries are in season but of course, no festival. Sounds yummy, especially with the pies :)

Ow I want some pie. The weather here is gorgeous after that terrible heat wave. I think I’d skip the Scientology thing
