Perla Venata vs Taj Mahal
Comments (33)I love reading everyone's comments. I picked out two faves yesterday: Perla Venata AND Taj Mahal. Our kitchen will have light gray cabinets, medium wood island (with Limestone on the backside facing the living area)...so a creamy white is a must to make the limestone blend in properly. I want to stay away from browns though, and I think these slabs have unique colors that will allow me to stay in the neutral/white/gray/woods range as far as my surrounding decor. Your post has gotten me excited...now to decide on a backsplash that won't take away from the beautiful countertops...maybe a glass subway tile? Darker gray? More of a stone color? Either way...I'm excited!...See MoreLooking for Taj Mahal quartzite remnant in Houston
Comments (11)I’m also searching for a piece. I did find a place called Houstongranitereminantscom, or something alone those lines. They have a lot of pieces. Maybe one would work for you. I’m in need of a 50x42. Nothing really fit the bill on the site for me. We did use this piece for our kitchen counters and love it!...See MoreIs Perla Venata and Taj Mahal the same stone?
Comments (11)Sorry been a little sick. The tile is Ecocrete Melted Ice by IRIS. http://www.ceramictileworksmn.com/Ecocrete It think it allows the cabinets to stand out. My hope is that is allows the stone to stand on its own also. I would suggest finding someone who has it or getting a sample. There are probably 4-5 different patterns within the box, and one that has a "line" going halfway through the tile. I noticed it a first, but now it just blends in. You could just put the lined one and put in under the cabinets. Also the tile is textured. I tried to stain it with everything I could think of, but it didn't stain. Comments (37)I'm pretty sure Corian doesn't have trouble with scratches on dark colors anymore. They are solid all the way through. I love Corian. Here's a tread about Corian that someone started a while ago. Lots of opinions, pros and cons. It seems that a lot of people love it. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/corian-scratches-dsvw-vd~5062035...See MoreD DN
