Taj Mahal - I think it's ''the one''
Comments (28)Well, it's official...I'm getting my Taj Mahal! The original slab that I posted above is still on hold along with the 5 behind it. They got a new shipment in and they went just as fast. Luckily, the granite guy called when he was here and had them put a slab on hold for me. When I went down to look at it three days later they only had one slab available. They said they've never seen any granite sell like this one. The only problem with my slab is it has this awful deep rust colored streak across the top corner. It's a larger than normal slab, so I'm hoping they can work around it....See MorePerla Venata vs Taj Mahal
Comments (33)I love reading everyone's comments. I picked out two faves yesterday: Perla Venata AND Taj Mahal. Our kitchen will have light gray cabinets, medium wood island (with Limestone on the backside facing the living area)...so a creamy white is a must to make the limestone blend in properly. I want to stay away from browns though, and I think these slabs have unique colors that will allow me to stay in the neutral/white/gray/woods range as far as my surrounding decor. Your post has gotten me excited...now to decide on a backsplash that won't take away from the beautiful countertops...maybe a glass subway tile? Darker gray? More of a stone color? Either way...I'm excited!...See MoreLooking for Taj Mahal quartzite remnant in Houston
Comments (1)Try American Countertop Fabricators on Brittmoore. Last time I was in their shop they had a large selection of unique slabs they were selling by the square foot. They had some quartzite, soapstone, lots of granite, and quartz, all by the square foot....See MorePerla Venata, Tahiti or Calacatta quartzite for the kitchen?
Comments (16)Hopefully I won’t regret it!! (My sister does think I’m nuts, though!) But we have an empty nest, I’m pretty careful. And lazy! Even with my indestructible granite before, it rarely got dirty as I like to lay a towel out before I cook. When I’m finished, I just throw it in the washing machine. Although I am cooking now more than ever. I hope this quartzite is one of the more durable ones🤞. I’ll try and come back in a few months and report if I’m regretful. 😊 Thanks!!...See MoreMel
