Don't write off fabric just yet. You could use microsuede, Crypton, or any of the newer indoor/outdoor fabrics available now. My DD chucked a whole bowl of tomato soup on one of my pale blue microsuede chairs and I swear it cleaned up perfectly. I think softer lines, and fabric, would bring some balance to the angularity of your room. I love the artwork and might think about pulling some color from the painting next to the stairs into said fabric. I know and love your kitchen from the KB. There are two things I don't like here. When the backs of chairs at a dining table are not higher than the table. And uncomfortable dining chair.s Who wants to sit on a metal chair. And putting cushions on those metal chairs would not look good. My advice would be .... either get 6 chairs or 8 chairs (you're showing 10 and that is too many for that table). Do not put chairs at the ends of the table, that space can't handle it and the look of a farm house table doesn't call for chairs at the ends. Get chairs that have a higher, rounded metal back but come with an upholstered, cushioned seat.

oh my ! I love your choices. and i agree about the recommended. have you been to spoonflower yet? If nothing else you can design or have someone else do it and they will print, and maybe sales of it will pay for what you ordered. i can't keep the whole catalog, but here are a few i got for ohters projects. with this they have a lot like this under fairy taleoh how could i forget this? i better go or i will do this all night!
