What Kind of Tree Frog is This

Hi, i put out my RV awning today and i found a tree frog in the awning rails, i have no idea how he got there as its a tight fit when the rails are closed.

I am in East Texas, i misted him with water a few times as i read that they drink through their skin. But i dont want to touch him without rubber cloves because i know some frogs can make you sick or even kill you via poison on their skin.

Does anyone know what kind of frog this is so i can see if it is ok to handle bare handed. I want to move him over to a better spot (out of my awning rail and out of the hot sun).

I think its this one (Hyla cinerea), i looked closer and it does have the yellow spots on its back and the white line down the body by the jaw.

Thank you for misting the little guy/gal. Tree frogs are awesome. After dark they entertain us with their invisible chorus of laid-back chirping. Handling our native tree frogs will not harm you in the slightest. The same cannot be said for the frog.

Pacific Chorus Frog!!! There are hundreds breeding in my ponds. Love them. We got used to the singing after the first season. Had a fish pond for years but no froggies. Built multiple small ponds for plants not fish and froggies showed up right away. They change colors slowly and can be seen in all shades between green and brown. They always have that black stripe through the eye. They will breed and stop singing and disperse into the landscape to return next spring. When the tadpoles morph they are sooooo tiny and cute. We see a few frogs throughout the year but most come only to breed. The babies are smaller than a dime. You'll get more every year as the babies come back to spawn.

We have gray and green treefrogs. I have gray one that is resident on my front porch. During the day he hides under the lip of the siding and at night comes out to eat moths by the porch light. Others are by my pond in the trees, lawn and fence. I've never seen them in my ponds but that doesn't mean they don't go in there. They do make a big sound for such little guys.

Sweet. I've got several in/around my pond. He's the largest. Funny thing is that he doesn't call much. In fact, I can't ever recall a time that he did call.

Hi Seem to have a bunch of these around this year Though I've noticed them in the past there seen to be dozens of them around my pools. They are sooo shy tough to get a count on them . Another thing I've noticed is the drop in the numbers of Cane toads I thought maybe the cold winter bumped a few off?? I would identify them as "leopard" frogs but they seem MUCH smaller. Is this another "invasive" species?? gary

I love my little green tree frogs, and they often jump on me when I move a plant that they were resting it. Once, I had one hang out on a bird house that I had up for decorations but was near a light .............. he filled up each night with the bugs from it.

Yes i read earlier that the oil on our skin can harm them so that is why gloves should be worn. He seems like a nice fellow, i assume he is male since he is smaller. I try to watch out for him as there is this bird that is always comming around close by and im afraid the bird will see him and make dinner out of him.

If i didnt live in an RV and have to limit the humidity in here i would get an aquarium and set it up real nice for him so that he would never have to worry about danger again.

At one time he was living inside my RV rear bumber where i used to store the black hose. He was so cute, he would stick his little nose out the little square hole in the bumber end cover and get bugs.

Thanks so much, if the wind comes up ill have to move him or be very very careful not to smash him when i close the awning.
