Japanese maple leaves/branch trailing on the ground, is that good?

This my Japanese maple planted last year in my front yard. The branches and leaves seem to be dropping down and touching the ground. Is that ok. Should I stake the branch so the leaves dont spread out on top of the mulch. Or should I replant the tree a little higher up?

Any suggestions welcome!

thanks,
