I have that problem every once in a while, except only for the Volume, the Safely Add/Remove is always there. I Googled and found the solution Mikie mentioned, for the Volume. It works, for a while, then the V button is gone again. System Restore always said no changes had been made. I've found that rather than going through the Options, a cold reboot will usually work. About the Safely A/R button: does anyone ever use it? DA, I remember from 'way back when there was a thread about that Invisible line. I think I found it then, but never have since then. just do the little work around it is super easy just some dragging and dropping involved just right click the taskbar and unlock it before you start, choosing toolbars then NEW toolbar is very simple and then dragging and dropping the new one on to the desktop is just one move. When you right click on that new one on the desktop you will be able to see the address bar option to select. Once you have that then just grab onto that new toolbar and drag it back to the taskbar next to the start button. Thats it now you have your new address bar toolbar on the taskbar. You can leave the other one on your desktop if you want or just delete it or drag it to the recycle bin. But you do want to remember to right click on the taskbar and check to lock it so it all stays in place.

Sapphires, If your taskbar is locked, what they call the "Sizing Handles" disappear. To make them reappear, move your cursor to the clock, right-click, and remove the check from "Lock the Taskbar." Once that is done, you should see the sizing handles. Move your cursor to the sizing handle you want to move and when your cursor changes into a double-headed arrow, hold down your left-mouse button and drag the sizing handle to where you want it. When finished moving them, go back to the clock, right-click and put a check back in "Lock the Taskbar." HTH Terry

snidely - thx - I bet that's why sometimes when I roll my mouse around the screen zooms in and out - I never knew why. I bet my cntrl key gets stuck at times. i know a few others do. time for a new keyboard I know. My son told me that last wk when he visited from out of state. He just shook his head at my keyboard. It's also missing a key or 2... I took some off to clean under them and lost a few... my E has the F12 'key' on it. that one had a piece break off underneath it... yeah, guess I'd better do that yet this wk before I'm caught without any keys that work. thx - I will try that (on purpose). lol!
