You won't be able to interact with your guests since you'll be almost a room away. It looks like the distance between you and those seated at the island will be something like 11' (I can't read your numbers)

Additionally to get from the car to your pantry you need to walk clear across the kitchen through the work zone. You want your pantry and fridge closer to where you bring food in.

Also do you need an island with seating, a dining nook and a dining room? Some people do, but most don't. That's a question only you can answer.

You also do not have enough space between your cooktop and prep sink. It's squished there yet on the other side you have a long expanse of counter that will most likely become a junk collection area

If nothing else I would ditch the second island and rework the kitchen so the pantry is on the side closer to the mudroom.

How far are you in the process? Can you make changes to the floor plan?

Is there a reason you placed that pantry/hallway on that outside corner instead of your kitchen?

How do you see yourself using the two islands? Seems like a lot of wasted space.

Thank you so much for the input. I agree that I think the distance between the kitchen and living room is great. We have it as it is now, because of the upstairs layout.

We were planning on placing the pantry next to the mud room, it seemed as though it was not giving enough space for the mudroom. It's definitely worth a second look.

The thought for the two islands is that the second one will allow for seating, and main storage for dishes if the island sink is placed on the other side. It also will allow a little buffer when trying to get things done in the kitchen. I personally am not a fan of double islands I just think without the secondary it would look like an odd space.

You have seating for 3 in the living room (1 lounge chair, and a sectional which will only hold 2). Is this your plan? If not, I'd start there to make the living room work, and continue the design analysis into the kitchen, incorporating many of the comments above.

You have so much room devoted to eating. Is that your family's primary activity?

I would move the pantry to the wall shared with the dining room. Make them reach in cabinets.

Remove the door in the pantry and the wall. Make that part of the perimeter cabinetry. Where the door is make it a window. Then put a cleanup sink under the window with the DW to its right.

Keep the freezer where Mama shows it. Put the fridge diagonally opposite just inside the kitchen so it's next to mudroom.

Extend island so there is only 3' between island and wall on left side. Make it a single island. Put a prep sink on island

Can't see your entire floor plan, and can't read the kitchen well. That said...........

Why is the kitchen a million step walk from the garage? Or is there another garage.?

I'm getting the feeling the entire plan may need work............
