Comments (4)P. G. Wodehouse, one of my favorite book characters was Jeeves. Also one of those books which is somewhere in back of a bookcase, need to look. Mario Puzo can hit home, painfully. Like his quotes. Barry McGuire is an unknown to me. His quotes are biographical, so don't mean much to me. Walter Jon Williams is an old member of my bookshelves. He stays and does not go out with the donate book pile, which only very slowly gets bigger....See MoreDaylilies with more then 15 characters
Comments (15)Thanks everyone for your comments. I like red, but it's only certain shades of daylily red. To me, as a rose grower, there is nothing more beautiful then a big crimson red rose. Hard to compete with them in that color range. But the orange reds in daylilies such as Wayah Valley are something different.....Good luck with your Mary's Baby Sherry. In your cooler climate the color ought to be amazing. Hope you post a picture.......Debra: I lost my initial Mary's Baby many years ago over winter. I called Richard Norris and he sent me another one for free and said it shouldn't have died on me. I was very surprised. The one from him is the one that's still going all these years later.............Maryl...See MoreFertilizer and such (must meet the 15 character minimum, you know!)
Comments (6)I may be confused (it happens), but this is what I posted under Dick's header on the subject. It may actually be what you were asking about. So sorry for the repeat if I'm babbling on: I don't know what your soil chemistry is, but around here one of the better natural fertilizers is Cotton Burr Compost, which you can also use as a mulch (which I do). It is more pricey then pine bark mulch but adds nutrients to the soil instead of depleting them. A lot of people were using mushroom compost, but the product they sell has already had the nutrients leached out of it by the companies who were growing mushrooms in it. It may sound good, but isn't as good as Cotton Burr Compost.....Just a suggestion to start with.............Maryl - (see link below) Re: Cotton Burr Compost...See MoreTesting 123 must be 15 chars
