I just painted my bedroom and master bath SW Alabaster with SW High Reflective White trim and doors. I LOVE the look, both colors work beautifully together. Depending on the time of day (morning sun) it looks white without being too stark white, as the day progresses it warms up turning into a vanilla cream in the evenings. My bedroom is west facing with more windows and a small south window. My master bath is west facing. The High Reflective White stays pretty true to color at all times. Unfortunately they were not able to do the cabinets in HRW as the paint I used on the cabinets could not be mixed in that color. HRW is a color that is funny at Sherwin Williams and kinda' tricky and definitely takes more coats to cover. I used Emerald paint in Alabaster on ceilings, walls, and cabinets in different finishes and Super Paint in Semi Gloss in HRW for trim and doors. I was nervous about using Alabaster on the cabinets in the bathroom but it worked perfectly. I will say, for those that are using a white on walls that is not as warm as Alabaster/White Dove, or more cooler grays (think grays that aren't greige) the Alabaster or White Dove warm soft whites are going to go yellow/cream. I would recommend going with Pure White for cabinets and trim. It is still a soft white without the creaminess of Alabaster. High Reflective White is also a good white it's not as soft as Pure White but still not so white that it looks cheap, but again HRW is hard to cover and cannot be mixed in many sheens and paints. I decided not to go with Pure White with my Alabaster walls because my husband wanted more of a contrast with the doors and trim, I wanted to use Alabaster on everything, but made a compromise with my husband, and went with HRW. I am not at all disappointed with the look. I know I spent countless hours agonizing over the choices and hopefully this will help others that are in the same position.

@Gaby Buller Take a look at SW 7042 Shoji White, for the walls. You can definately do a beautiful white palette. Since all color has a DNA (Hue family, Value and Chroma), you can be guided by framework to create a palette that is harmonious and pleasing to your eye. When pairing whites, a good principle that works is having at minimum 0.2 difference in Chroma (last number) between your whites. A little spacing on the color wheel also helps. This principle ensures there is enough contrast between your whites so that one will look more neutral than the other, and they don't look dingy or dirty. The other way to add contrast is to change the sheen level. For example, you can play with sheen levels on BM White Dove and use it as the Trim Color, in a higher sheen than the cabinets and use BM White Dove in Matte on the walls. This will also provide the contrast your eye needs without looking dull. Other colors that may fit your vision and work with the above mentioned framework are: SW 7013 Ivory Lace SW 7010 White Duck SW 9586 White Sesame BM OC-13 Soft Chamois

My contractor is coming back Monday so I needed to make a decision and whites are so complicated and I’ve heard horror stories of one white making the other dingy that’s why I usually go with trim same as wall but I like my whites to have some warmth both the colors do♥️ I just wanted to make sure they would work together..I don’t want to waste anymore money because paint is expensive

I have had a really busy week and didn't look at Houzz. Hope what I have to say isn't too late for your decision deadline. When deciding on cabinet color you want to choose something that works with the counter you are choosing and works with your overall color palette. Pure White is one of my favorites for cabinets because it is just slightly warm and doesn't limit your other choices as much as either Extra White (more cool / gray) or Alabaster (warmer/ more yellow) If you knew you loved fall colors, warm gold, greens and burnt oranges, I would say Alabaster would work better with the overall palette. That is not what I am hearing from you and not what I am seeing with your other finishes and flooring choice. I think Pure White (left) is much prettier with your flooring than Alabaster. I think Pure White is prettier with Taj Mahal than Alabaster. Pure white will be easier to work with than Alabaster as you make other color decisions for your home. Here is a picture of Taj Mahal with Alabaster and yellow walls. It is a lovely combination. I think pure white would have been too white with the yellow walls and golden floors and may have felt stark, too modern. This is a kitchen with Taj Mahal counters and "Pure White" cabinets. Not specifying SW Pure white, but what I would expect Pure White to appear next to Taj Mahal.
