Blooms for a Tuesday
Comments (12)Congratulations on winning so many ribbons. It's gratifying to have our hard work rewarded. The picture of Green Derby is sharp and focused, showing just how nice GD is.....My favorites of your "entries" this time are Pixie Plaything, Dragon Dreams (which looks alot like PP) and of course I almost always like the yellows, so Just For Breakfast is right up my alley.....Good show.......Maryl...See MoreMonday and Tuesday blooms
Comments (16)Debra: I don't know the name of that particular bee balm bloom as it was in a package of seeds I got from Johnny's which I thought was the red variety. Instead it was labeled Panorama Mix. I'm not sure if in that clump I will see any other colors appear as so far, all the bloom appear to be a lavender/purple color (at least to this old pair of eyes lol). I know the other clump across from this one, the blooms appear to be coming out red/pinkish in color. Bluebird Sky is registered as a crispate ufo form. I agree it does look more spatulate when you view the pics on the AHS site dictionary. Black Eyed Bully is that dark of an eye. Amazing when you see it up close. Hopefully I can get some garden shots soon. Not much now as it is just here and there with blooms and a sea of scapes. Very hot and humid here and the JP's have made their appearance. Just a few of them. I'm ready with my cup of soapy water and tweezers and just slide them into the cup. I too love green throats and the bigger the better ;-). Julia...See MoreTuesdays Blooms
Comments (17)Rita, I didn't remember having seen it bloom before. Nancy, most of them have some imperfect blooms, so when one always opens right it is a delight, isn't it? Jean, you never know, three of mine are reblooming that never have before. Clown Parade, Black Forest Depths, Alabama Jubilee, oh, yes, and Philistine Champion, so make it four that had never re-bloomed. Thanks, nat4b. I really like the brights and reds of any shade too. Mantis, Bohemian Rhapsody is a deep coral, almost seems iridescent with some golds including very light, almost yellow highlights and some burnished golds with touches of orange, but I haven't seen anything at all brown, even after a day in the sun. It seems to pick up more gold as the day goes on. kay...See MoreBlooms on Tuesday
Comments (11)Lots of beautiful ones today, Jean. Not sure I can get it to one, but I'll try. the Woman at the Well is lovely. Pandora's Treasure is a very striking one. Beautiful Edgings is beautiful, and Northern Nocturne period is pink and lovely. Mississippi Man is just beautiful. I'll pick two, Woman at the Well and Mississippi Man are my picks. kay...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
