#11 Done!
Comments (6)Hi Leasa! It's good to "see" you again. Your kitchen looks great, especially love the colors you've chosen as they are so warm & inviting, plus the door to the outdoor porch brings the outdoors in---just lovely! How long have you been working on this house, is this year two or three---? I've lost track of time. You've done an amazing job!!! Becky...See MoreWhere is everyone?
Comments (58)Kent ~ That recipe sounds delicious as do all the others you hinted at. Yesterday I got into the mood to bake so made some lime sours. A flour/butter crust, baked first, then a mixture of eggs, brown sugar, coconut, lime juice, lemon peel, chopped walnuts, vanilla, a tad of baking powder, on top of the crust, then bake for another 20 minutes. Yummy, with vanilla ice cream. Diana ~ Thanks for the kitchen renovation pictures. I remember those days when we did ours. Things were cramped and hectic for awhile, but not anymore and we love what we did. I can hardly wait to see pictures of your kitchen when it is done. Hang in there, keep a sense of humor, get plenty of rest and have fun, pretty soon it will all be over. Edna ~ Keep us posted, and get plenty of rest and garden time for yourself, to keep your spirits up. Eduarda ~ I understand about waiting for fall weather to get to where you are, same here. The colors definitely are better then as the flowers are not being fried. The last couple of days we've noticed a big change in the weather, cooler in the mornings and evenings. Such a welcome change. Dayle Ann ~ Sorry to hear you didn't get the job, but glad that you are taking it in stride. Sometimes things have a way of working out even though it might not be what we had hoped for. Do take care of yourself, and enjoy each day and your home and gardens. I also enjoy this great group of friends here. It is always great to hear what is happening with all. Marilyn ~ This morning I was out watering and just felt so thankful and so appreciative for our home and property. We have had cooler weather the past couple of days and it really makes a difference in how you feel. Has your weather cooled down anymore? Have you gotten anymore rain? Fern ~ You will learn a lot and be inspired here. Hope to see you more often as well as the rest of the newbies and lurkers. ;-) Kent ~ Thanks for letting us know Tenderheart is still around. Miss seeing her in here. How fortunate your neighbors are that you pass along plants and 'goodies to eat'. (((Kathy))) ~ I'm so sorry to hear you've been ill. I hope and pray you are soon feeling much better and able to get out and enjoy your gardens. Glad to hear PatchoulieJulie is still around. What is her business? Don't go feeling like you've been neglectful, you have to get well and we understand. FlowerLady...See MoreIce Storm~ Thank you's!! and Pictures
Comments (15)Awww...Dan, I only WISH I was that relaxed! LOL! You're right, Marie...it is beautiful. I just wish it didn't come with the destruction. :O) Here's one quick "after" picture, it's horrible because I forgot to reset the white balance on the camera. All the downed trees had to be removed with the tractors, and our utility pole (what's left of it!) is still propped up with 2x4's. The back side of both buildings were hit & smushed....but thankfully, you can't see those from the road! :O)...See MoreWhere is Everyone??
Comments (18)Calliope, I missed you. Actually, I've missed everyone here. I'm still using the library computer, and they aren't open when I have time to just sit with the computer - that's usually around 5 a.m. :). I'm still slogging on the out-of-my-box quilt; not just that I'm not fond of stitch the ditch, but there's a lot of white sashing, and I guess I'm more than a bit bored with it. I'm not sure how I ended up with a full-size quilt -- I know to make a placemat or lap-robe first when playing with an experimental pattern. Really, I do know, but this quilt just seemed to expand when I wasn't looking. DH is 80 and his memory is deteriorating, so I have to constantly be on the alert --- sometimes he knows what he's doing and sometimes he doesn't. He's happy but sometimes I'm just too tired to even look at the sewing machine, much less sit down and stitch. Anyway, I'm glad to see so many new quilts finished and new projects underway. Keep up the good work - because sooner or later I'll be looking to see what you've done....See MoreAlana8aSC
