Trying something. Hope this works.
Comments (13)PA, that's great. Thanks for sharing. I did envision such a thing over on the south side of my house. I have acquired so many hardy annual/tender perennial plants that I have to do something so I don't start over in the spring. peony - I have read that even a ball of minilights can keep a small space warm. It's safer than a light bulb or space heater and they are rated for outdoor use. Yep, I think this thread is on the road to a hijack. That never happens here, lollollol.........See MoreHope I don't end up with a double post, trying again,
Comments (10)Yes, that 1st one is Custard Candy. Posting frustration, I really did not think it would work, and this one did not act like it was going to work. The Westbourne has been here about 5 years and a has really been a good one. It looks like this a lot of the time, full of lovely wide open perfect blooms. If only it were a bit taller, blooms are barely out of the foliage. It still attracts a lot of attention. Sherry, sailing at Dawn is beautiful, it has had a few splotchy blooms this year, I don't remember the problem last year. Celeste, I when Katrina Heroes opened I could not find the tag. It opened with several blooms, and has 7 scapes, I have been going crazy trying to remember what it was and where it came from. Finally found tag yesterday, right up against the plant, must have grown a lot. It has at least 7 fans, so the size got me. Every bloom has been absolutely beautiful. SAILING at Dawn opens well here, but I think you would get the splotches. Mant, this is as close as my phone will get, it REFUSES to let me change, Sailing at Dawn is about 24" tall here, I can handle that, although I planted it behind some taller ones and need to move it. The Westbourne is always this height, not way into the foliage, but barely. If the plant did not do so well... Maryl, I got Dixie last spring, it bloomed, and it rebloomed. We had a mean winter here, no snow cover, then crazy warm, then cold spring. Some daylilies noticed, but not that one, seems to be handling our humidity lately well too. I think you will like it. Considering all the ruffles, it dies not hang up, but some ruffles fall over the flower and I don't care for that....See MoreOK, this is my third try to post - hope it works

Comments (2)I too am learning. Since this site would not let me post all my pics there are several 1 inch holes drilled in bottom covered by a screen. I don’t over water so that’s not a problem with leakage. The divider is so when i want to harvest i will fill other side with bedding and the worms will migrate over. Plus I put a lamp on the empty side to keep warm. The other night it got to freezing. The worms did great. I started in august with plastic totes. I never had any liquid go to second tote. I am getting ready to build an 8ft bin for ENCs to sell to fishermen.. The heat is not as big a problem as i thought. I got my worms when we were close to 100 degrees, I have fans on them it seemed to work. My worms are outside under an overhang not out in direct weather. So far so good. I like the wooden bin better than plastic totes. I know the wood will not last, but I’m trying to design it so it wont absorb the moisture. The wood is more breathable than plastic. You can email me and i will send you pics of everything Ive done. I don’t mind the questions i love this worm stuff. Their fun, i love watching them eat and multiply. I’m not a save the earth kind of guy, i just like my new hobby. Plus its going to make money in the future.. tangiwormfarm@yahoo.com...See MorePlumeria Girl (Florida ,9b)
