Comments (0)I am looking for help in choosing the correct size, color and style ottoman/coffee table. Was thinking upholstered ottoman because we have a toddler. Below is the dimension of couch and photo of room. Any help would be great!!...See MoreIt’s just... so blue....
Comments (24)With the floor plan I show, you won't be walking in to the back of a sofa. (I did not add all the tables, lamps, etc....just showing you general idea). You'll walk in and see the opposite wall and chair grouping. I'd put a really impactful piece of art above the chair grouping. (You could also put bookcases instead of chairs if you want). For the sectional area, you could put a sofa table there if you want. I often do that and add extra seating. If your sofa is 36" high, you can add barstools. If not, you'll need a 30" high table and table height stools. It's a great place for appetizers or kids eating, etc. I'd move the sectional to arrangements you think might work and use mockup chairs from the kitchen. Make sure you keep in mind foot traffic and ability to watch tv. Where you have the sectional placed now, for example, there is no logical place to put the tv. That room is 14 feet wide. 14 feet is too far to watch tv, unless you have a larger tv....See Moresomeone tell me if these will look good once it’s all set up

And since your fiancé is arguing that you’re a neat freak and therefore is trying to talk you out of white cabinets, use that argument to get lighter floors. Now, onto white cabinets. Both white and dark cabs will show dirt. And I’m okay with that because then I know I need to wipe them down. But white will hide and dark will show are smudges. That’s a never ending battle here with young kids. Do what you want with that info....See MoreReading nook ottoman advice
Comments (20)Do you have a decent sized foyer? I think that rug and table might be happier as a focal point there. The table is too tall for the chairs and will make a table lamp too tall for a good reader. I would prefer a rectangular rug so the leggy chairs could sit entirely on it and be grounded. I'd remove the more casual tab top curtains. They're a bit bedroomy for this space. Add pair of reading floor lamps in brass right and left of the the chairs. Here are a couple of styles. Put your plant stand and a maidenhair fern between the two chairs....See Morekerri1400
