I don't know what the rule is on this, but we put our 4" cans with the edge closest to the cabinet over the edge of the counter. That way, they shine right in front of you when you are standing at the counter. A 6" would get pushed back farther if you use the edge. Stand at a counter where you would work comfortably and look up. My thought is that you want the center of the light just in front of you and hitting the counter in front of the upper cabinets. To close and they wash the cabinet more than light your work space and too far back, the center of the light will hit your head rather than toe work area. Make sense?

hi,according to ur drawing,i suggest don't use the Utilitech recessed LED spot light.bcoz the beam angle for those kinds of LED spot light is small,normally this kind of spot light is commercial. i am not sure if ur ceiling is integrated ceiling or not.if yes.i think u can order the attached square LED downlight.it is also recessed type.the beam angle is approx 120 degree.u just need 1 pcs of this kind of LED down light for ur kitchen.

Seileen. Your tuquoise tile is main eyecatcher in your kitchen. Next is your range hood. That hood appears out of code to my eye. It is too low over burners. Typical is 30-36 from top of burners to bottom if hood. I am short but I think even I would hit my head on it. It is really big. So that is second big focal point. Third is your shelves and styling of items on the shelves. I do like the first knob and slim pull on your doors and drawers. Those are like jewelry in your colorful outfit. It is very pretty but a few tweaks will make it really amazing.
