Today hasn't been a very productive day for me. I dropped the dog off the groomers, come home to wash her blankets and mop the kitchen floor. I wanted to get a shower then get a manicure and pedicure afterwards BUT the groomer called and I had to go get the dog. Her left ear is really infected and she needed to go to the vet. Call vet, went and got her off to the vet. Vet had to shave her ear inside, flush with meds and dig finally after all that she is home with meds and needing to go back in 2 weeks. Then off to see DS, left him then I am thinking I will go home get a shower and I will go for the manicure. NO, I decided while I was in the shower that since I am going to put pj's on WHY bother to get dressed and leave the comfort of my home. SO, after all that I was feeling somewhat sore and decided to watch tv in bed, after my nap, I fed the dog, made a double batch of brownies, packed DH's lunch for tomorrow (since he is at a meeting til about 8 tonight), made myself a lettuce, tomato and cheese sandwich with mayo and waiting for brownies to cool off, I gotta taste them before anyone else!!! Now, I am back in bed, still having pain. Tomorrow hopefully I will get the manicure and pedicure :-) Deb

It was Monday... I was greeted at work with a squealing computer power source/surge protector. We'd lost power in every electrical outlet one on side (the library side) of the building. I ran extension cords to power the suge protector and my library computer so I could work until my boss decided what to do. 22 kids came to story time. This is the best part of my job! Today we read about imagining what we could be when we grew up then drew our adult selves on the sidewalk with chalk. I'm going to be a cowgirl.... Then some patrons came in to use the computers. These two are regular abusers. I have two computer stations. She uses one of the libraries machine. He parks his butt in the other patron computer station and uses his laptop. And they will stay there forever. Even though I TOLD them we were having electrical problems the guy said 'oh I can plug here' and pulled the power to the library computer. Good thing I back up every day! My library software is corrupted. I can't access books or patrons. As husband would say 'I'm dead in the water' I called tech support. It seems our subscription expired June 30, 2009. Lots of people visited today and checked out books. I wrote down names and barcode numbers (about a hundred books), emailed my boss and put it all in his lap and came home. Now I am editing and uploading photos. Lori

Got off to a bad start this morning! Pattie43, I so empathize with you. I am not a morning person. Never was even when I was young and now that I'm old and decrepit, that is just the way it is. The maintenance man was across the street making some kind of noise at 7 o'clock this morning. That is very unusual and I chastised him for it. I had breakfast, checked out the TV news and fell back to sleep. I thought I had a Dr. appointment this afternoon, and realized around noon, that it is tomorrow, so that left my afternoon free. As I mentioned in another post I spent some time watching a building being demolished. Then I had dinner which was just left overs that I ate cold. Then I went out to the porch and a neighbor stopped by and brought me a dish of Hot Fruit Salad. I went across the street and talked to one neighbor for a few minutes, then stopped in at another neighbors and as I left she gave me a dish of a casserole she had made, and two beautiful local peaches. It was 9:30 by then so I watched the last half of Nancy Grace and snacked on blueberries and banana in Cool Whip. I've been on the computer since. So that is "A day in the life of ME." Good night. I took advantage of the 60degree temp today to go down to Mom's and empty her outdoor planters of annuals, placed some of the inexpensive plastic ones out by the street for the "mystery woman" who drives around collecting old pots and even the plants, swept the leaves off the back deck and away from the front entrance of the house, emptied the canister set in the kitchen and washed those inside and out, and before I left I chose a piece of ruby glass from the curio cabinet for my nephew's wife as a remembrance of Mom, and a Willow Angel for my niece. I found an electric pencil sharpener! I acquired that for myself as my prized Panasonic battery operated KP-4A finally wore out. :( I must have a sharp point when doing crosswords. Also remembered Mom's glasses on her kitchen table and her hearing aide at home, and decided to drive into the city to donate the glasses to the Eye Center and the hearing aide to the Ear/Nose/Eye Clinic where she bought it. Both places were very happy to receive them. Came home, had a cup of tea, did a crossword and relaxed. I must have gotten chilled though outside today, probably because I worked up a sweat, because I'm sitting here this evening with a sweatshirt on, the thermostat up, and a throw over my lap. Tomorrow it's suppose to be sunny again.
