,, what kind of keyboard program are you using? I use SwiftKey which is very easy to use and learn. The predictions are right on target. You can get it from the Google play store. it is very customizable. I hate using any other kind of keyboard now. I don't care for the standard keyboard that comes loaded with the system. The on-board keyboard program will remain on the phone but you can download and add other ones to try out. Swift key does have a free version, I like it so much I did purchase the full app, not expensive and I caught it on a special deal. Check out the link below, you can install the free one to try, if you decide you don't want it just remove it. Same with the browser I have found that the standard browser is OK not great. I currently use UC HD BROWSER for android, it is by far the best browser I have ever used for android. it is amazingly fast and easy to use, I love it and highly recommended that any one using Android try it out. I have been a long time Firefox for android user but UC HD BROWSER blows it away, and it has a built-in ad block plus type filter built in. It is also available on Google play. What does "sign-out" mean to you? You most certainly can close any app - then it's not running - would that suffice? The paradigm of apps on a smartphone or tablet is a bit different than using a browser to sign on to a webpage with a PC. As far as speed of input, have you tried voice input (press the microphone icon when you see it)? Or, the Swiftkey/Swype approach where you keep your finger down on the keyboard but move it quickly from letter to letter and it gives you choices for what you spelled. i can do either nearly as fast or faster as typing on a full size keyboard but it did take some practice.

I can imagine the frustration some are have because of the function problems. I just did a check in the Test forum and had no issue, I'm using a PC and Chrome. Otherwise, patience may be required. It's the weekend and unless they're in fire drill mode, likely nothing is happening just now. Anyone having ongoing issues should send an email to the support address with details of the hardware and browsers not functioning normally.

Just checked and Chrome is up to date on my phone - wish that had been the issue. There was a time before one of the many Houzz updates when I could post from my phone with no issue. I don't remember exactly when that changed because I' don't regularly posted from my phone. If I manually type in gardenweb.com in Chrome on my phone it brings me to a combined page of posts from many forums with a note at the top GardenWeb has been updated for info in the new look and features please visit the FAQ. I tried typing a test response on one of those posts and was able do that without the words being erased - didn't try to post it since it was just a nonsense test. But when I follow my bookmarks which are all gardenweb.com addresses, they change to houzz addresses as the page loads! If there is a setting to undo that I'd love to know.
